September 18, 201312 yr Hi, I know that this has been mentioned somewhere. but I want to make sure of one thing. once I download a livery from the operation Center. [Not a fictional but a real one] i.e: Emirates. does it download the livery with the exact Aircraft Settings and configuration. so no need to change anything in the config in order to make the aircraft as close as the real one ? thank you Remy Sarkis BAW1031 UAE1525
September 18, 201312 yr Yes, it does. There's a little note pad symbol next to the liveries that have complete and accurate aircraft options. If I remember correctly, Emirates is one of them. Regards. CPL/MEIR
September 18, 201312 yr It seems that right now there's something not working exactly as it's supposed to be (at least not on my system). For example, I have both the Delta airlines and Aerologic liveries installed. When I start FSX --> load up the T7 with Aerologic livery all weights are expressed in KGS and temps are displayed in C°. Now I close FSX --> restart FSX --> load up the T7 with Delta Airlines livery --> still KGS and C° used... I close FSX --> open the Operations Center --> check the aircraft systems settings for Delta Airlines --> the 2 last lines show LBS for weights and F for temps. So I start FSX again --> load T7 with Delta Airlines livery --> change KGS to LBS and C° to F --> end of story? No. After closing and starting FSX again and loading up the Aerologic livery again, now it shows everything in LBS and F... . Checking in the Operations Center the settings for Aerologic are still set to KGS and C°. I have uninstalled all liveries and reinstalled them but the above described behavious still occurs. So I am thinking that if any modification is made directly in the FMS (in sim) that this will override any settings set in the OC. Maybe it has something to do with the use of saved flights... I don't know. Is anyone else having that issue? Thibault Dosunmu
September 19, 201312 yr Yes I have the same problem as Thibault. I flew a flight with the Fedex livery and now today I went to fly a flight with the Emirates Sky Cargo and found that it had lb and Fahrenheit set, correct for FDX but not for UAE. The weight and temperature units is the obvious one I've been looking for with this problem as I know for sure what units each other use. But what concerns me is all the other settings that could be incorrect. The only solution if there is no fix is I would have to go into the FMC EACH flight and crosscheck the settings with what the ops centre says, I did that at first but its something that I feel I shouldn't have to be doing so I just change the weight units. -Rowan
September 20, 201312 yr I had a similar issue in the NGX. Check under CDU>PMDG Setup>Aircraft and see if the tail number at the top matches the plane you are in. If it doesn't, here's what Ryan told me to do with the NGX to fix it (I presume the same should work for the 777, at the very least it won't break it any more) First, exit FSX. Then delete both PMDG 777 folders at this location: C:Users\(Your Windows Username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\SimObjects (you can also search %appdata% in the start menu on Windows 7, this will take you to the Roaming folder) Re-start FSX, load the plane and check the CDU again as above. See if it has the right tail number and options. Steve Caffey
September 20, 201312 yr I just noticed what you said Steve just before I actually read it. The registration is wrong in the FMC aircraft page to what I'm flying. I will give that solution a go. -Rowan
September 21, 201312 yr OK I found out why the livery specific options were not applied correctly. It turns out that in the PMDG SETUP--> AIRCRAFT section I had the option ''fixed config'' set on D-AALA. That's why every livery specific option set was overridden by it. I cannot remember when but I must have mistakingly activated that option while having a look around in the CDU option (during the first hours of use I guess...) Hope this info can be useful to anyone else. Thibault Dosunmu
