October 2, 201312 yr FSGenesis was sold to another Flight Sim company, and the Galaxy memberships were discontinued. Justin Thyme started a new company called Toposim or something like that, where he will custom fix problems like airport plateaus created by his FSGenesis mesh for a fee. Bill Recently got a response from FSGenesis. This time was not Justin. They responded quite well to my questions (not as fast as Justin used to do) but I was well taken care of. They said they are rebuilding their website. October 4, 201312 yr He is still in business, as I've seen advertisements for his new NextMap Central America mesh. It's for sale at one of the prominent flight simulation online shops. FSGenesis has not been the most reliable company, though, so beware. The mesh products are good quality, but don't count on continued updates or forthcoming mesh packs for other parts of the world. Several times in the past the owner/developer has made promises to customers, only to later threaten to discontinue production unless his sales improve. He promised to provide his 19m Aster mesh for the whole world and then cancelled the project entirely while making excuses involving his personal life and declining sales. I'm sorry the guy was having problems, but I bought a 1 year plan for $100 based on the guarantee that I'd be able to get Aster mesh for a good portion of the world. I won't be fooled again. He supposedly went out of business and therefore, I suppose, felt justified in annulling everyone's Galaxy memberships and renegging on his obligations. It appears that he's now back in business, though. Personally, I'm going to check out Pilot's FS Global mesh. I just wish Pilot's would be more specific about what the actual mesh resolution is for different parts of the world. October 4, 201312 yr I'm also a "discontinued" Galaxy member of FSGenesis as dave2013 is. I have recently setup in my new rig the complete latest version of terrain mesh of the various regions as I could get from the membership. I am watching carefully FS Global Mesh and at some point I might change to this dataset. For now I feel comfortable with what I have because I know I can un-install it whenever I want and how to re-install it. I hope FS Global allows that (unlike their cousin FTX Global) AHS712D Alvaro Escorcia KSGR/OMAAAirHispania Virtual AirlineMSFS / ASUS TUF Gaming F15-Refresh-144Hz / 11GenIntel (R)Core (TM) i7-11800H NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX3060GPU / 1TB-Samsung SSD / 32GB-RAM SAMSUNG-SmartMonitor-M7-32"4K
October 7, 201312 yr Discontinued Galaxy member also. I went for FSXGlobal Ultimate and got the entire world in three shots, The Americas, Europe and Africa. Asia and Oceania. If you have all three it means no more waiting for the next mesh areas to come out. It's big...count on 100GB on your HD. And expensive, around $150.00 US for all three regions depending on where you purchase. But it is, in my opinion, much better than FSG. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
