November 25, 200421 yr Commercial Member After my>experience with the 441 I am a bit leary of their other planes>at the moment, though I couldn't live without Ultimate>Traffic.Go get the update and run it again. One of our users pointed out that an older file had crept into the update that did effect flaps. It has been corrected and re-uploaded.Jim Rhoads
November 25, 200421 yr Well, this is partly a matter of taste. These aircraft all have different characteristics and all are very well-made.Let me agree with Chris and mita.IMHO the FSD Cheyenne is a truly charismatic twin. Very capable--and interesting to fly. Well worth your consideration! (And another update is coming along soon--a set of refinements rather than bug fixes.)Best,Mike --Mike MacKuen
November 25, 200421 yr I may be a little biased :) but I'd recommend a P-38, such as this one: http://www.kazoku.org/xp-38n/model/gg_lsm_preview It cruises at 300mph, has a VC that's fairly frame-rate friendly, etc. It's $5 donationware (donationware.net), with proceeds going toward the real plane.- dcc
November 25, 200421 yr Hands down the Aeroworx KA 200. If you weren't happy with this plane, you won't be happy with ANY FS plane. The flight dynamics are very nice. I have flown the king air's over 3000 hours and I would say Aeroworx has modelled it as good as it will get.
November 26, 200421 yr That's good to hear Jim. I am still a bit put off however. When I brought up this whole issue late in the summer I was basically told that I was mistaken and there was nothing wrong with the flight model, and that it had to be something to do with my setup, the way I was flying, etc. Now, that my analysis is confirmed I'm still annoyed that I was stonewalled. I've bought 3 payware planes and have had some questions about each. Two out of three companies told me that it was an MSFS issue, my setup, etc. Later I found that each issue was resolveable by some relatively easy fixes. The third company took me seriously and immediately solved the issue. That company is PMDG. I will never hesitate to buy from them again, but I can't say the same about the others. Mike
November 26, 200421 yr Over the holiday I downloaded and installed the Howard 500... I agree it's an excellent aircraft, and I also agree that it is payware quality. And the biggest bonus--fps are outstanding. Just to cruise along and hear the sound of those radial engines is a joy...-John
November 26, 200421 yr Two great products in the range you are asking about are the PMDG B1900 and the Aeroworx B200 King Air. (mentioned by others here as well) The 1900 is an excellent product if you are looking to get something a little more accurate than the default King Air, visually stunning, and very reasonably priced. The B200 King Air from Aeroworx is a little more full-featured. A little more expensive, but in my opinion well worth the cost, and the best medium twin available. It has provided me with countless hours of highly-realistic enjoyment. The Aeroworx B200 will require a little more horsepower to run smoothly than the 1900, if that is a primary concern for you. However, the developer did include the ability for the customer to decrease the refresh rate of the avionics which can help a lot. Although the slower refresh rate can be a little frustrating in the last few moments of a zero-visibility ILS approach.Because I like to fly low-visibilty/instruments a lot, I chose to deck out the PMDG 1900 with the JL2 avionics from Reality-XP, and together that is one incredibly fun package (1900D and after-market Avionics combined will cost about the same as most high-end add-on aircraft). With the upgraded avionics it is a wonderful aircraft for flying medium range routes in wicked weather. Once you get used to smooth-motion gauges, it makes it tough to go back to the default type.Good luck making your decision (I saw quite a few good suggestions), I'm sure you'll have some fun just deciding which ones you like best.Jordan Moore
November 26, 200421 yr I have the PMDG B1900. I think maybe I'll try both the Aeroworx King Air and the C400. I'll also give the Howard a shot just for kicks, but I was looking for a more modern plane.BTW, if anyone really likes retro, try the free Connie. It is really great! Just starting the 4 engines is fun in of itself. Mike
