Advice on ATI Cards

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just saw a PC on sale($1250). Here is its Specs:

XPS 8500 I7-3770 3.4GHZ

12GB, 2TB, 32GB, DRW, 2GB, WIFI, W8

Video: AMD 7770(2GB)

Currently, I have:

I7-870 @2.9

8GB

Win7 64bit

AMD 5850(1GB)

My current PC preforms above my expectation. I have done most of Word Not Allowed's guide and the shader mode 3.0 and I get between 17 to 22 FPS at FSdreamteam LAX with 100% AI in the NGX(after lowering gauges and model resolution), FTXGlobal and low resolution clouds.

Since, it has been a while since my last upgrade, I thought it was time. I have searched the net and came up with the conclusion that 5850 is a better card than 7770 but the latter has 2GB and I cannot install the 5850 in the PC so I wouldn't lose the warranty.  So, what do you guys think? upgrade to this one or wait and keep looking for one with a better card?

Thanks in advance.

I agree with this prognosis. Price drops are immenent. AMD answered the 770 with the R9 280x at $299. And nvidia is about to release the 770 ti.

AMD is about to release the r9 290x against the Titan. Then the 290. So prices should fall in November and P3D v2.0 should be better understood.
