October 10, 201312 yr I was out late at night on the farm. The dogs wake me in the middle of the night - what can I do but let them out. Just then, an airplane flew by overhead. This is crazy, particularly because it was really, really dark! So, I launched Flight and set the time to night! Then, I went looking for a Clandestine Job - found one on the Big Island. Immediately, I got the Night Bonus. I was up on the heights over Hilo - you can see the approach lights in the distance. The ground isn't always very dark - it's often lit up as if the moon was out. But, when you fly over a forest on an overcast night, it is really, really dark. Of course, I was at treetop level, except I couldn't see the treetops! Just then, the police flew above me, then disappeared. You've probably had that happen. But, it's not good news, because they were pacing me just a few minutes later. Mi copilot told me to take evasive action, but the last time I did that I was busted. So, instead, I turned off my beacon and nav lights, and kept flying towards my destination at treetop level. The RV did not catch me - instead it went right towards my destination and circled overhead! If this were the real thing, that would be a trap! But, if this were the real thing, I couldn't see them in the dark. The police RV stayed right above me while I landed and unloaded my cargo. Is this a new tactic for avoiding getting caught on Clandestine Jobs? That's a lot of Experience Points for a short, but hairy flight. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 10, 201312 yr It's 1:30am and I was just going to bed after having a jaunt round Hilo (which i haven't done for ages) and writing some ramblings on here, when I checked the posts and saw yours. Dammit, man you've got me all worked up now, do I go to bed or do I switch the PC on again? Maybe ill just let my three dogs out, but if they stumble across the cat they will bark and wake everyone up. Maybe I should goto bed and dream of flying instead.
October 10, 201312 yr Good that you had a nice lighted runway ahead Luis. I have done some of those at night into short dark fields surrounded by really big trees.  Steve
