This morning on a flight I noticed the two frequency displays at the bottom of the ND  were not showing.

I have no idea how to set the display .  Any thoughts?

You can manually tune NAV & ADF frequencies using the NAV RAD page on the CDU. Alternatively if you load a route in the FMC the NAV will automatically tune VORs. You also need to make sure VOR or ADF are selected to be displayed on the EFIS control panel.

Assuming the frequencies are set on the NAV RAD page on the CDU, the visibility of the DME reading and course displays on the NAV display is controlled using the VOR1 and VOR2 switches to the left and right of the NAV range display.

You can enter identifier or frequency as convenient. If you know the frequency it saves the step where you have to choose from a number of stations with the same ID. The ID will appear in when the station is identified.

You can also input freq/CRS or ID/CRS to display a course line.

Entering frequencies helps if T7 nav database and FSX scenery are not 'in sync': If a VOR has been decommissioned you won't find it in the T7 database anymore (identifier) - but you can still look up the frequency in the scenery (map view) and enter it, so the T7 will still dial in the correct station.

What happened to AVSIM

The ARAIC was updated and the runway database is also been updated

But FSX still thinks nav aid frequencies are as they were in 2008 unless you get into the scenery files and edit the data. AIRAC updates don't do that.

Why did you say not to enter frequency when it is just as valid an entry as the ID?

Have to look into it
