lcd screens backlight

Featured Replies

I don't succeed in changing the backlight for the lcd screens as i used to do in the 737.

In the 737 i can go from very dark to full light  and i can't do this in the 777.

(sorry english is not my first language)

The answer to your question is in the introduction manual.

There is a switch on the overhead labeled "master."  When the center button is in, the master overrides all settings to include the displays.  Click the center button of the master switch (to turn it off the master control), and then try adjusting the displays.

It would be extremely helpful for you to read the intro manual as well.

I don't think he meant that. I think he was saying about making the displays more like LCD's in the NGX where you can adjust the brightness into a bright blue kind of colour rather than the 777's that remain a constant black colour.

I'm really not sure how else you can interpret that, particularly because he didn't once refer to the color.  He wants to change the brightness.  I explained how to do so.  This is a common error because so many people are averse to actually reading the documentation that came with their study-level sim.

I'd be surprised if I'm wrong in my interpretation/assumption.

Hopefully the OP will be able to confirm what he meant.

I thought considering the NGX and the 777 both use LCD screens the back light in the 777 can't be adjusted as in the NGX. The 777 displays stay at a constant black backlight where as the NGX can be adjusted to a blue/ brightness.

I saw what you were getting at, but even the 777's LCDs vary in brightness in hues of blue.  It's not as obvious in this picture, but it's definitely blue.:

See post #2.  I answered it there:

You can either lower the master, or turn the master off and lower it on the display knobs.
