I recently purchased this oh-so sweet tool but sort of feel like I may not be getting the most of it. Hi Nick: Welcome to the DX10 club!

 

I've made a few changes. Add or change the red text below into your config, and here's a suggestion for an inspector setup. Set your AA in the Fixer to this, to start with. It will change your fsx.cfg to match, and the Inspector setup is then as per the link above. 

Here's a few things to avoid.

 

You'll note - I left BufferPools out of the cfg (you don't have it there at the moment (unless I'm blind), so here's a doc which will help you set it up. If you need more - just come on back!

 

You can leave the rest of your fsx.cfg settings as they are - just do the red ones and you'll be good to go - ok!

Wow thanks for the heads up Paul! With so many tweaks and whatnot it's a little easy to get overwhelmed. I can't to get home from work so I can try these out. I'll let you know how it worked out..

....Only one tweak there, Nick - just the FFT Fraction. All the rest are just "easing it up" a bit - rationalising. There's no sense in loading 20 GA aircraft if you only fly tubes - and vice-versa! - that sort of thing.  ..but - yes there is a bunch of readin' fer ya!

Wow what an improvement. Unfortunately my home airport is KPDX (which seems to be in a world of performance doom) which is also where my default testing takes place. Upon my first flight with the Carenado 208b everything was much improved! That plane has always givin me such a hassle with performance..once I add some fog or funky weather I do take a performance drop which is expected. Ive always wondered if it's my gpu thats struggling with the weather.

 

Quick question!

 

-With my new NI settings do i need to open IN and select MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR every time or does it automatically load that profile once i load the sim?

Inspector is watching for your any exe of any of it's database of programs, and when it senses that FSX.exe has been fired up - it automagically selects and loads the FSX Profile that you have set up, Nick.
