November 3, 201312 yr This may or may not be related to Windows 8.1 (x64 pro), though i didnt have this happen prior to doing the inplace upgrade to 8.1.. The particular case that replicates this is that if i'm sitting on the runway in NYC at KJFK (the addon for Manhattan X is active).. i'm running under DirectX 10.. If I hit reset flight.. midway it will crash fsx.. So far i've tried it without compatibility mode.. with win 7 compat. mode.. with win xp sp3 mode.. in all cases i dont run fsx.exe as administrator (uac on).. The event log shows: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14 Faulting module name: FSCopilot16.ocx, version: 1.2007.508.1, time stamp: 0x46407863 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00016937 Faulting process id: 0x31f8 Faulting application start time: 0x01ced8ac66f9dd9b Faulting application path: O:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: o:\Program Files (x86)\FSFDT\FSCopilot\FSCopilot16.ocx Report Id: f08788d8-44a4-11e3-bf01-002683143432 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Has anyone run into this one? November 3, 201312 yr It's probably best you go to the developer's forum to look for a fix as FSCopilot, FSInn, have specific configurations involved for their applications to work properly. I did find the following link that is related to your problem though - http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=29010 . Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 3, 201312 yr Author I tried to just uninstall fsinn and fscopilot.. but the same scenery area when you click reset flight.. crashes.. only this time.. no error.. fsx simply vanishes.. So far i think its limited to the NYC (aerosoft manhattan x) area in dx10 (maybe dx9 though i didnt try). November 3, 201312 yr DX10 will have absolutely no bearing on whether FSInn or FSCoPilot works or not. What works in DX9 works better in DX10. I'm thinking you have a sharing problem. Windows 8.1 has more security. In fact I heard it is very difficult to disable User Access Controls but it is possible in Windows 8 - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/hyperyash/archive/2012/07/18/disabling-user-account-control-in-windows-8.aspx. Make sure you have done that. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
