Just bought FSX Standard edition, is there any way to upgrade to Gold?

Hi all.

 

I just bought Flight Simulator X for myself, having played it previously on the computer of a former flatmate.

 

However I liked to use the glass cockpits, which he had on his FSX and noticed right away that there are none. It didn't take me long to find out that I'd bought the standard edition and glass cockpits are only available in the gold edition (he must've had the Gold Edition)

 

So my question is, is it possible to upgrade to the gold edition? I've not been able to see any kind of add-on pack available in the Microsoft store, or any other store for that matter, so it seems like the only option is to go out and buy the Gold Edition, which means I've wasted a bit of money on buying the Standard Edition. I hope there's an upgrade... if I'm honest, not being able to find one using Google, I guess that there isn't one available. But it's always worth asking people who know better.

Gold fairly cheap nowadays and includes SPs 1 & 2 plus Acceleration.

Buying the Acceleration expansion pack should give you the glass cockpit, IIRC. And that's also what wikipedia says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_Simulator_X#Aircraft

FSX Gold Edition comprises the FSX De Luxe Edition DVD and the Acceleration Expansion Pack DVD. As already said, they are cheap enough to buy

I'm not sure whether the ACC pack can upgrade the standard edition with a glass cockpit.

 

Why not adding the free servicepacks 1+2 for FSX to the standard edition and look for a solid payware glasscockpit plane with some more/deeper systems?
