November 7, 201312 yr I have Windows 8. The UAC Slider is all the way down. I'm using Microsoft Flight Simulator with add ons. Everything related is in the (X86) Program . I'm currently putting the items in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. Everything is also in 'System' under Security. I'm having problems with the Sim and am wondering if the set up I just described is a part of the problem? Thanks in advance

November 9, 201312 yr Could be a problem having FSX in the Program Files (X86) folder. Even with UAC off, Win7 and Vista treat directories named "Program Files*" differently, with the biggest potential problem being the use of file redirection. If Win 8 behaves similarly, that's a problem. November 10, 201312 yr I'm currently putting the items in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. Turn off Windows 7 compatibility mode. FSX was not developed for Windows 7. In any case it is my understanding that any compatibility mode will cause problems with fsx. It may work for some for a few days, a few weeks, but eventually, you'll get a flight or situation where the compatibility mode causes you a problem.
