Issue with the Controls in T7

Featured Replies

Hi there, I am running the T7 (got it few weeks ago) and since then I am struggling to make the controls behave.

I have the FSUIPC and many other airplanes installed including PMDG NGX and no one has that issue like the T7 has.

I have all my axes configured via FSUIPC and it works perfectly on all airplanes that includes the NGX (i am not ruining on FSUIPC profiles, one generic profile for all), all running without an issue.

on the T7 it is going crazy, throttles are not stable, so are the rudders, etc. I start moving throttles , it starts moving them in the T7 as well, then it goes crazy, the throttles start bouncing back and forth either together or each one of them in his own crazy set of mind. (I have throttle 1 and  throttle 2 hardware)

Rudders are the exact same as the throttles.

Yoke , there is nor right/left , up/down animation , even though I can see outside of the plane that the elevators and ailerons are moving correctly (so I think).

Flaps & Spoilers - are working fine.

Buttons - also fine.

the strange part is if I load the T7 with Short/Long FMC Panel state (Engines off state), the throttles & Rudders behave well/perfectly!!

when I am in a full start state (ready to go), that is where I am seeing all those issues.

the yoke Animation is still an issue though, no matter what panel state I am at.

Any idea why the T7 acting so strangely unlike all the other airplanes I have Including the NGX that are working perfectly?

Hi, KillaBee,

I suggest you temporarily remove the fsuipc.ini file from the modules folder.  Don't delete it or you will lose all your settings; just move it out of the modules folder.  See if that fixes the problem.  PMDG advises not to use FSUIPC for throttle mapping as it is known to cause problems.

I am assuming that you are following the FSX startup and PMDG T7 load instructions in the introductory manual.

Along with what Mike suggested, assign your controls through FSX, not FSUIPC (at least at first for trouble shooting).

You can also try flying with the primary flight computers disconnected.

(Is it a full moon tonight or something, loads of these topics have appeared at once!)

Hi KillaBee,

There has been problems with the 777 and FSUIPC since the 777 came out. Different people seem to experience different problems it seems, usually they only seem to be confined to the engine axis.

It would be worth you checking on Peter Dowson's forum page for FSUIPC as he did find a fix for the engines, in which you assign the axis in FSUIPC but don't use the calibration in FSUIPC option. If I remember you can't have the reverse thrust set up as part of the axis, only as the button at the bottom of the throttle quadrant. Also there is something to change in the FSUIPC module in your fsx folder.

That's just the link to the forum, you'll have to search through for anything on the 777.

Also remember there is a procedure as suggested in the PMDG manual for the engines, which says you should bring the throttle up to 55% N1 and then use TOGO on takeoff. Once airborne your physical throttle levers should be set to max and left there until descent, then as the autothrottle retards to IDLE it will change to HOLD and then you should return the physical throttles back to idle until landing.

Hope this helps some.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Thanks guys for the direction you gave me.

I managed to solve the problem based on the info you gave me here.

the Solution was very simple in the end.

Indeed it was related to FSUIPC.

all I needed to do really is to create a new Profile for the T7.

once that was out of my way , I could play around with the Axis without damaging other plane.

all I had to do really was to change the settings of my Throttles, rudder, Elevator, Aileron to "Axis xxxx set" (and make sure to "send to FS as normal Axis" -the middle option)

e.g. Throttle(s):  from "Throttle 1"  to "Axis Throttle 1 set"

that solved the issue for everything.

After (fixed the Problem):

Hi KillaBee,

Glad you managed to sort out the issues you were having with your 777.

Hope you get many hours of trouble free flying!

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Glad it's fixed!
