November 9, 201312 yr Hi fellow simmers, As I watched the series Ice Pilots for the first time recently, I am getting a bit excited about it, and I am wondering if there are some good freeware/payware aircraft for FS9 which are used in the series, such as: - Lockheed electra - Douglas DC-4 - Curtis C-46 - Canadair CL-215 What I also was wondering if there is a (very) good/nice Canada (mesh) scenery for FS9 for this area (North West Territories)? I looked here at avsim and flightsim but nothing came across. I can highly recommend the series if you love old descent vintage planes!
November 10, 201312 yr There are Buffalo Airways repaints for DC-3's from MAAM-SIM and the the default FS9 DC-3. I also have one for the Beech D18SVC (Schupe), although BA does not own that particular aircraft. If one is available for a good DC-4 model please post the info here on both the plane and the repaint. Thanks for thinking of this...its a great simming question.
November 10, 201312 yr At Flightsim there's a good selection ( 27 files ) ..... http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=17055522 DC-3, DC-4, DC-6, Curtiss C-47 etc etc By the way, several years ago someone did a Buffalo repaint for the Antonov An-12 which I lost in a HD crash. Love to get another copy if anyone can help , please. Pete.
November 10, 201312 yr Go to http://buffaloairwaysvirtual.com/index.php/Frontpage and register. Lots of freeware for both FS9 and FSX.
November 12, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the help all! I already have the Buffalo repaint of the MAAM DC-3 and it works perfect. Such a beauty. I have just registered to the Buffalo Airways Virtual Airline, and I am just waiting for my account to get activated. If you have also suggestions for a good (payware) scenery for Yellowknife or Hayriver etc. please share. I have found a freeware scenery of both here at avsim/flightsim.com but I have read that it consists of numerous of other texture/scenery files that you need to download, and I am not very fund of that polluting my FS with that. Thanks so far!
