November 23, 201312 yr Hi, I read somewhere in one of the manuals that one can configure the triple seven for taxing using the steering tiller instead of the rudder. I don't remember which manual and I can't find it. But I remember reading about it. Does anyone know? It seems to me it was in the Introduction manual and I would like to know what page it was discussed. Ken.
November 23, 201312 yr I use the twist feature on my joystick, which is off to the left side of my seat, for a tiller. I set it up through FSUIPC and it works perfectly. Of course, I also have yoke and peddles, so the only use of the joystick is for a tiller. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
November 23, 201312 yr PMDG has not done this on the 777. I don't know what is so difficult about having a separate axis for tiller,so we can do the rudder control checks while rolling. Most airlines I see do control checks before leaving the ramp so they don't have to turn around and taxi back to the gate if there is a problem. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
November 23, 201312 yr Jim, Boeing SoP calls for the Controls check as part of the Before Taxi procedures just as Alex has stated above. It's common through all Boeing A/C if I am not mistaken. Generally Captain commands for the Flaps which the F/O sets as his Area of Responsibility and the Captain can concurrently do the Flight Control check which is his Area of Responsibility. November 23, 201312 yr PMDG has not done this on the 777. I don't know what is so difficult about having a separate axis for tiller,so we can do the rudder control checks while rolling. It's not PMDG's fault, it's an FSX limitation. If you buy a registered copy of FSUIPC you can assign a tiller axis though. Jordan Forrest
November 23, 201312 yr This might help (it works with the 777, too): http://forum.mutleyshangar.com/index.php/topic/10764-taxying-airliners-using-fsuipc/?hl=taxying FSUIPC is needed. Cheers, Brian
