If I uninstall fs9.....

Featured Replies

...... Will it affect fsx?

After years of long service, I've ditched fs9 and haven't touched it in a year. I have everything I want and need on fsx!

So, if I start uninstalling all my fs9 addons, aes and fs9 itself, am I likely to break something in fsx or will it be ok?

I don't see why uninstalling FS9 would affect FSX seeing as they are supposedly in different directories....unless you, for whatever unknown reason, combined the two, which I don't know how you would have done that.

The only possible conflict I see would be if you have your FSX Scenery Library pointed at any FS9 scenery, and you then delete those scenery files.

I suppose you might have an addon that works for both sims that might be affected, I can't think of any off the top of my head. You would know what you have better than me.

As for the core files, there should be no problem.

Now if you went the other way and deleted FSX you FS9 registry entry would get hosed. But that's another story.

Thanks.

No they are on the same hardrive but that's it. I know from previous experience that fsx used to mess up the fs9 directory which needed repairing but that was it.....

Perfect! Didn't see your comment Joe.

If that's the case, I'll crack on. Thanks for the advice.
