November 24, 201312 yr There is no way to adjust Nvidia surround for your different resolutions. My understanding is P3D 2.0 will allow you to expand the view across 3 screens without the need for Nvida surround. They are no longer using the usual full screen view, but a new way of doing full screen that solves many problems with very little performance loss. Windows 8 sucks for desktop use. But the upgrade to 8.1 is free (may be more difficult if you are on a store bought pre installed oem version). 8.1 is more stable, and actually feels a bit snappier. This is indeed very good news if it is the case and would solve all my issue :-) As for Windows 8, I'm a bit on the fence. November 24, 201312 yr I completely stayed out of Windows 8 because MS, as usual, ignored it's core base of desktop users for tablet users. There's still a little of that lack of consideration for core users in 8.1, but I am happier with it than I expected to be. It just seems more stable. You know, how after you add in all your old programs, things start to get slower. 8.1 doesn't seem to have that issue ... after all these years they may have that figured out you'd think. You don't need to upgrade to Windows 8.1 for P3D 2.0. However, Windows 8.1 is the only OS MS is going to upgrade to DirectX 11.1. They have not realized the full specification that is available on hardware/graphics cards. But it took quite a while for dx11 games to come out, a couple of years. Nice thing is many people have dx11 cards and don't know it, so they will be able to run P3D 2.0. A GTX 460 or higher has dx11. My answer to OS upgrades is to dual boot, slowly migrate. There are programs like easyBCD and iReboot that allow you to make it easier to quickly reboot into the other OS. Right now I'm on a week old sparkly clean 8.1 installation just for P3D 2.0. Sadly, in the past, I'd do that process once a year because of the way Windows gets slower and slower as I use it more. For drive space, although I have over 10TB in house (code and databases from projects), as I add one program into the new OS, I delete the program in the old one. For FS, its been add/delete with the addons. I have been in IT for 25 years, am an MCSD (sql, mfc, as well as asp.net/c#)(aka MS ######), I still get befuddled with Windows performance. Didn't you know, even my cat knows lol... Its a built in undocumented feature. Most people never reload the OS so by calling the undocumented feature over time it simply makes the new OS you upgrade too feel really fast. The new OS performs just like your old one. Saves loads of $$$ on development costs (Sorry couldn't help myself)
