March 4, 201412 yr You should already have cockpit shadows. I hope I've got this right ,I am talking about the sunlight reflecting giving off shadows inside the cockpit , similar to the fsx default air crafts in dx10 mode.If it's true I must not have set correctly. Have seen a demo of Q400 on p3d v2.0 with cockpit shadows and it looks stunning and realistic.

(Inserts foot in mouth) In FSX there are no shadows, I was referring to the reflections on the displays, which are not really shadows. I have been spending most of my time in P3Dv2, and you are correct, the shadows are astounding. Regards, Craig. Again, I'm very sorry for the misleading info.

And I would say it probably is not as good as dx11. Unfortunately not too many third party aircrafts display that feature except the pmdg JS4100. There is a guy name frooglepete on utube , giving his first impression on the majestic dash8 and he mentioned the cockpit shadows in pilot edition will not be featured ,only in the pro edition and I just want to be sure if he has gotten that right. My fsx is running beautifully and I don't want to move to another platform just yet and also have xplane10 and dcs ,so no short of platforms.( I must say the cockpit shadows in dcs fc3 in dx9 is incredible ).It is definitely a must have feature and I hope it comes out in the pro edition. Thanks again Craig.
