Could this be the future of MSFS?

I just read a post in a combat flight sim forum that hit home and even mentioned Microsoft in one of the replies...http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.php?...15&pagenumber=1Will the "greed" of the corporate world sink in further and affect every add on aircraft for FS? I SURE HOPE NOT!I know there have been issues in the past with FS and the use of certain AIRLINE logos, etc - but aircraft too? OMG!What are YOUR thoughts?

Remember what happened with the "FLY" series? "Flyhawk"?

I doubt that these claims are real. I would be more inclined to believe that current GA manufacturers would pull somthing like this.NG doesn't make goods, warehouse them and sell them retail (Commercial Of the Shelf or COTS). They develop these vehicles under contract for the US Government, who owns the specifications usually. (GOTS) Some contracts differ. Use of the name Northrop Grumman may be an issue, but I don't think the planes will.Having worked most of my adult years in the industry of recieving or delivering things like fighters, carriers and submarines, I think that if you told a government contractor that you were going to splatter their name all over aviation buffs' computer screens, they would kiss you. Contractors go to great lengths just to get their name mentioned in the right audience. I have seen them pay someone to page a non-existant person at a Washington Social just to get their name spoken aloud. (Mr So-in-So of Company X, you have an urgent phone call at the front desk.) I do know that Xpand Rally had to rename the cars in the game to similar names brcause of manufacturer's fees. The car manufacturers are a different situation. They are making money selling their wares to the public where it is all about convincing the buyer. Northrup Grumman makes billions building an aircraft carrier and I don't think they give a crap about some game or simulator depicting one of their ships or one of their fighters.I have to throw the BS flag on the original post in the other group. If it is true, it was probably a middle management person flexing his almost non-existant authority. I give the company a little more respect than pulling something like this, but it is possible that an individual who needed to be 'reeled in' got carried away. My 2 Cents,Dennis

Very possible indeed. We have seen the last new american plane from NG in IL 2 FB sadly.Though I don

More likely someone at Ubi coming up with a story to lay blame for them not putting in American aircraft on someone else...

Anybody realized this is happening with FS9? There is no concorde anymore!!I heard Microsoft was prohibited to include concorde in FS9, does it true??

Don't think it will happen. Remember Boeing running the 7E7 ads all over AVSim a while ago? They wouldn

Most people will have tried it once out of curiosity then never used it again.

Boeing and Microsoft have a very tight relationship so that will probably not happen. Also from what I have heard there will be American planes from NG in BOB so it do look like NG wants to make a statement of some kind. All speculation though. There is really no reason why the airplane manufacturers wouldn
