December 12, 201312 yr HI All P3DV2 lovers, Reading recently some of the P3D advice on V2, the suggestion is to disable SLI as one would be worse off with it enabled. When I get home from work I'll get a chance to investigate my nvidia settings, but what comes to mind this second is I think because I use 2 X 680s with 3 30in monitors and NI surround giving me a resolution of 6044X1080 it is not possible to disable SLI. Anyone shed some light on this for me and how I can use V2 with the image spanned across 3 monitors without SLI? thanks IM
December 12, 201312 yr In the Windows software ( desktop right mouse click ) disable all extra monitors. Then in the Nvidia software you can choose surround without SLI. Keep in mind dat you cannot run FSX/P3D as one wide view, but as seperate windowed screens. Adding a view to each extra screen will cost you 30-50% fps. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
December 12, 201312 yr Author mmm thanks for the reply, I think I would prefer to have the view spanned across all monitors rather than windowed. I shall experiment with that. So thanks. IM
December 12, 201312 yr No you can't run surround and disable SLI.. "Activate All Displays" is not surround. It's 3 individual monitors acting as 3 individual monitors. Surround is 3 individual monitors acting as one single monitor. By the nature of how surround works with two cards (requiring 1 monitor hooked up to the second card) there is no way to get around the SLI having to being turned on with surround requirement. Well.. I lie.. You could unbridge your cards, get a Display Port > DVI or HDMI > DVI adapter and run surround on a single card. ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING / i9-9900k @ 4.7 all cores w/ NOCTUA NH-D15S / 2080ti / 32GB G.Skill 3200 RIPJAWS / 1TB Evo SSD / 500GB Evo SSD / 2x 3TB HDD / CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X / IPSG 850W 80+ PLATINUM / Dual 4k Monitors
