X-Graphics & Network Texture Question

Featured Replies

With the release of ASN and REX4 Textures, Is X-Graphics still a viable contenter as it relates to weather textures? I'm unable to locate any recent discussion on this topic.

On s separate topic, I have a network question: Can textures be installed on FSX Server PC or Client with the ASN engine residing on a Client?

Yes and yes.

Graphics are in the eye of the beholder. Some like XG, some REX, AS2012 or FEX. All will work, It's your eyes and your call.

ASN just uses the graphics that have been installed in FSX - it doesn't care  how, when or why.

I want to use AS2012 graphics with ASNext as the engine.

The question is:

1, Must the graphics be installed after each re-boot of the computer?

2, Must the graphics be installed after each shut down of FSX?

3, What is the best way to confirm FSX has the AS2012 graphics installed?

Thanks.

Once the graphics have been installed in FSX they remain until you change them so closing FSX or rebooting will not affect them.

Run AS2012 - select your textures - click install - if you do not get an error message they have been installed.

Close AS2012 - run ASN and enjoy!

Remember that AS2012 only needs to be run IF and WHEN you want to change to a new set of textures and should NOT be running when ASN is active.

Enjoy!
