December 28, 200421 yr I purchaced the Abacus VC-10 a while ago then got distracted by all the fabulous add-ons we've been treated to this bumper year. I've only just noticed there is now a version 1.5. This post isn't intended as critique of the plane, just a heads up for any owner who, like me, hadn't realised an update was about. I just installed it and it's nice improvement. The old girl's coming on!All the best for the new year guys and galsGrum
December 29, 200421 yr I look at the forum from time to time, so I never missed an update yet.Still one of the best planes I have in my hangar, and such a pleasure to hand-fly...Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. Respice, lector: In nihil ab nihilo quam cito recidimus.
December 29, 200421 yr Oh the shame!!!! To think I allowed myself to be smitten by younger, racier planes and ignored my faithfull, beloved VC-10. I've just turned forty, must have been a mid-life crisis......do you think she'll take me back if I promise to check for updates regularly? I miss her throaty roar and the cute way all that black smoke belches from her nozzles..............Grum
December 30, 200421 yr >http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/default.htm>>tata>>JP.I wasn't going to comment on this one but, the mud has started to be thrown. This 'URL' has no relevence to the original topic. Please keep it clean? You know you want to.Dave.'Three greens and soft landings' Dave Taylor
December 30, 200421 yr Actually I missed mention of the update, because, I suspect, it occured during a period when I gave up reading forums. Curiously, as I was making the original post I did get a mental picture of the final scene in 'Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid'. Nevetheless, this particular add-on is on my harddive and I quite like it and my post was intended for anyone similar. I don't understand all of the above posts nor do I care to. Presumably it relates to competing software (which is also on my hard drive, and which I also like). I miss the old days when people could post tips or news or problems, whether useful or not without having to worry what the response is going to be. God knows I tried to make it as innocuose (Never could spell that!!!) as possible. Sorry if this seems an over reaction but it getting to the stage where you don't dare mention anything.Thankyou and good bye. I'm off to take up model aircraft.Good luck.
December 31, 200421 yr >I wasn't going to comment on this one but, then don't.>the mud has started>to be thrown.and where exactly is this "mud"?if anybody is slinging mud,it is you sir,for accusing me of slinging mud, when all i did is posting a valuablelink(or,a link i think is valuable.)>This 'URL' has no relevence to the original topic. Please keep>it clean? You know you want to.unless you missed it(if you did,i'm sorry),this topic was about the Abacus VC10.i thought the original poster might like to see more of the VC10.if not for the models,DM's site is also a great information resource.>Dave.tata.JP>'Three greens and soft landings'sorry,i keep crashing.thanks for wishing though ;)

December 31, 200421 yr JP, As I said above, before posting, I thought quite hard about whether it was wise given (as another poster said) the numerous flame wars this harmless little subject has caused. In the end I felt I was unlikely to be the only one who had missed the update and a post might help a fellow simmer somewhere. I know you were providing a helpful link and I thank you for it!!!I also knew it might well be taken in the wrong way.(NOT YOUR FAULT).Hense my 'attempt' at a humerous responce. (Vague hope of avoiding forum punch-up). JP, you go right on posting useful links, For my own part I have very rarely posted in forums for just this reason and this will probably be my last. Fortunately I can't ever recall having a bright idea that would have solved someones problem so it won't be a great loss to the community(LOL)!!! I do have 'freeware X' that you mentioned in addition to 'paywareY' but thanks once again for the link. I at least appreciate your posting.Grum
December 31, 200421 yr you are most welcome Grum, and i do hope you enjoy both,or either one,of your VC10's.they were great airliners, and that's all that counts imho.i don't care for x-y debates,i just sim ;)see you around Sir.tataJP.
