Fresh Install Saitek Pro Yoke and Pedals Bundle - FSX

Recommended Posts

Hello Simmers,

Santa arrived 1 day earlier and dropped this in my lap.

I would appreciate advice for this installation.

I have read in the forums that one should not use the Saitek provided windows drivers. Also that one should not use the provided Saitek Smart Technology (SST) programming software. I am unsure about that and whether I should use the FSUIPC4 system to manage these controls.

I intend to use the new controls mainly with the Carenado CT206H Stationair, the PMDG737 NGX, and stock Cessna 172

Thanks in advance!

It's been my experience with Saitek stuff that it's best to use FSUIPC to manage the programming.  As far as the drivers are concerned, windows should install the drivers automatically.  If you have driver issues after install, then you should check the Saitek site for the most up to date drivers for your operating system.

Cheers.

I agree with Jeff.  You need to let Windows install drivers.  You may be confusing the element of drivers with control software.  I use FSUIPC for my Saitek Pro Cessna Yoke and pedals.  I also have added a Saitek Multi Panel and use a program named SPAD to control the Multi Panel.

If you are using FSUIPC then make sure you have eliminated control settings for the same devices in your flight simulator settings.

Thank you guys for the advice.

fppilot mentions here something that sheds some light. So, looks like the need to use other non saitek non microsoft drivers (SPAD) related more to the saitek switching panels rather than the yoke + pedals. If that is the case I dont have to worry about drivers.

The other thing is the controls, and based on the advice you both gave me I should proceed the FSUIPC way,

And, happy holidays!
