December 29, 200421 yr Maybe it's just me but I can't find the download for the latest FSE module on Lago's site. After reading the post on their site it said it will be released today. Avsim this might take the wind out of some's sails if Lago postpones this release... :-roll FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
December 29, 200421 yr If you bought it direct from Lago, just go to the fse product page and log in. The download is supposed to be there. If you purchased from somewhere else like Simmarket (like me) you will have to wait until they get the update and publish it. I guess after over a year I can wait a little while longer...I almost did a double-take when I saw that the update was out. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
December 29, 200421 yr I was surprised to, I just about gave up on FSE. I can't wait to see if all the service trucks and baggage carts are available again... December 29, 200421 yr Yep. Worked for me, however it's a drag when you have to hunt around for information like this.-- Walt
December 30, 200421 yr Does anyone have it yet? How is it? Still waiting to get the patch from simmarket...Does it come with a lot of new objects already? ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
December 30, 200421 yr >Does anyone have it yet? How is it? Still waiting to get>the patch from simmarket...>>Does it come with a lot of new objects already? I haven't put it to work yet, but the download was only 800KB, and the contents basically include an executable, a DLL, and a PDF document. Unless there's another download I missed, doesn't look like any new scenery macros.-- Walt
December 30, 200421 yr Looks like some more BS from Lago... :-hang FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
December 30, 200421 yr I had a look at it. I suppose I should be very excited about this finally being released after a year being late to release but that delay, and subsequent lack of information or mis-information to all it's users I has seemed to leave a bad taste in my mouth.Yes, it technically "works". You can now d/l an item and put it into your FSE program and then add it into FS2004. So in that regard they have finally delivered. However, the exchange website is nothing more than what appears to be a big "holding tank" of a database. I see no structure or format on all the items there. No snapshots to easily identify what you are about to d/l. No search function. Just think of it if you had to go through the AVSIM library with no search or sorting tools... no photos! You have to download 1 item at a time! May seem like no big deal but there are already around 100 items there. Just think when it get's into the 1,000's. Who wants to go searching through all that and d/l one item at a time. And if you come back at a later date there is no way to tell if you have d/l'd an item in the past your not. Hope you all have good memories for the dozens of fences and walls you must pick from! ;)Each item appears to have 3 seperate d/l's available: An Object download, A Sound download, and a Scenery download. So I am seeing an item called "Brick wall" with a sound download??? When I asked about this LAGO said "to use your common sense". Sure when it's a box or a wall, but what if it is a vehicle? Is there a seperate sound for that vehicle or not? Confusing.I believe LAGO is trying to make this all seemless and automatic as they warn if you upload a mistake or a duplicate it will remain up there. So it seems like there will be no hands on management overseeing uploads, filtering out errors, etc. This will need alot of work to make it "user friendly". Day-to-day management would need to be employed here... batch downloads created... item catagories... photos... etc... etc.Maybe I am being to critical. One guy said I need to "chill and have a Bud". Probably right, but after a year of waiting to use this product as advertised I have no compassion to wait for more updates, patches, and excuses. If only RWY12 would employ the realtime slewing and placement of objects I would drop this product like a bad habit.Definate said my 2 cents here.....
December 30, 200421 yr "No search function. Just think of it if you had to go through the AVSIM library with no search or sorting tools... no photos!"Caveat... I am not familiar with this program at all or any restrictions Lago may have placed on the sharing of these files. So, my question... What's to keep people from uploading them AVSIM?
December 30, 200421 yr Good question Tom. I am only guessing here but I think when you upload an object to the FSE exchange site it converts it into a specially coded file that only FSE can recognize. Then again... maybe you can just u/l here. I'm sure someone will eventually try.
