This topic has been moved from "The Microsoft Flight Forum" to "PMDG General Forum". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons.

  • The most likely reason is that the post was off topic.
  • The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in.
  • The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature.
  • The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere.
Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums. See our image posting rules here.

Sir/Ma'am,

(NOTE:  We required all users to sign their posts in this forum...  Normally we delete unsigned posts, but since the moderator moved you here I'm just letting you know for future reference!)

PMDG creates AIRCRAFT for FSX, not scenery.  (If, by scenery you mean airports, hills, mountains and the like...)  Anything that is not attached to the aircraft itself is made by other developers- and we just create the simulation of the airliner itself.  ("Just" the airliner... ahahahaha)

I strongly encourage you to visit http://www.aerosoft.com and search through their scenery archives.  You can find just about any piece of land you wish to enhance within the simulator!

Best regards,

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

You can find us at:  http://forum.pmdg.com

PMDG just makes plane add ons. They do not change the scenery that you are flying in. For free scenery just google best freeware fsx scenery. For pay ware take a look at flytampa, FSDreamteam, Flightbeam, or Aerosoft.

Just a couple of ideas:

ORBX Freeware

Barbados

KXNA

Sun Sky Jet KPHL

UK2000 freeware

Try freewarescenery.com I'm pretty sure that's the right URL anyway

When you buy an Aircraft, it doesn't make the world look nicer.

However if you want the world to look great, start out here:

http://www.nl-2000.com/ Awesome scenery of The Netherlands (not Amsterdam Airport yet, but pretty much all the other airports there). - Free (HUGE file)s.

http://fullterrain.com/ Various products for certain airports & areas - (not free)

I picked these 2 examples as my favourite "Best examples" list of free and pay scenery.

Below is a good resource for searching through all possible destinations/products. Some are better than others (and not necessarily the pay ones better than the free ones! there's plenty of expensive payware that isn't half as good as NL-2000), but in general, all are better than FSX default.

http://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx.html - A searchable list by country for free scenery.

http://www.flightsim-scenery.com/fsx.html - A similar list by country for Not free scenery.
