Exterior and VC Textures Disappear when Panel Lights Switched On/Off

Featured Replies

Howdy all,

I just recently did a clean re install of FSX and since then I have been having problems where my aircraft textures disappear when the cockpit lights are turned on.

This has happened to me with the Aerosoft AirbusX Extended (turned on Cockpit lights and the tail of the exterior model and all of the paneling of the VC disappeared.)

I then did a flight with FeelThere's EJets (E175).  The flight started out at dawn and the cockpit lights were on, and everything looked good.  As I was climbing to T/C the cockpit lights automatically switched off as the sun began to rise, and I ran into this problem with my VC and Exterior Model.

As you can see the exterior model is gone, and the screens for the VC are all out of whack.  I saved my flight with PVACARS, shut down FSX, reloaded the flight and everything was perfect the rest of my way to San Diego.

Figuring there was something corrupted in the previous install (I was having other issues where everytime I ended a flight FSX showed a black screen instead of an aircraft on the main screen), I did another clean install yesterday.

In order I:

* Installed FSX and loaded the default flight

* Rebooted Computer

* Installed Acceleration Pack & loaded the default flight

* Rebooted Computer

* Installed UTX USA

* Rebooted Computer

* Installed UTX Europe

* Rebooted Computer

* Loaded FSX and default flight

* Rebooted Computer

* Installed All of my ORBX Sceneries with computer reboots in between

* Installed Active Sky Next

* Rebooted Computer

* Installed REX 2.0 textures

* Reboot

* Installed iFly737

* Reboot

When I loaded my first flight on the new install, as soon as I turned on my panel lights, I had the same problem

I don't know what could be causing this and I am beginning to want to throw my computer off my balcony!

My video card software hasn't changed (and I don't want to upgrade it as the newest version is incompatible with FSX)

I'm on Windows7 64Bit and haven't updated anything.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Can you upload your fsx.cfg to this thread. Put a .txt on the end, and upload it as you would a pic. Will have a look at it. You  could be missing highmem fix.etc

Here is my .CFG

The only thing I have changed is adding the "AI Aircraft" group to my Sim Objects section.

Thanks!

No fsx.cfg.  Make sure you added highmemfix=1 to the Graphics Section as Julian suggested.

Yes, as Jim said, put the fix in and all should be good.
