December 30, 201312 yr Hi everyone. Today, all of a sudden without a warning, my FPS dropped from approximately 25-30 FPS in EGLL to 6-8 FPS.I have no idea what's causing this problem. I installed FPS_Limiter 0.2 earlier today together with a couple of airport freewares. I also changed some settings in FSX and in the fsx.cfg I changed TextureMaxLoad from 6 to 30. Next time I opened FSX the problem turned up. I immediately removed the addons and changed TextureMaxLoad back to 6.I jumped to different airports and it was all the same. It turned out that this wasn't the only problem.I started the 'default' flight at Friday Harbor using the AirCreation Trike Ultralight, and some of the scenery were missing and looked weird. I run FSX: Acceleration on Windows 7 64 bit. A list of my addons: AirbusXiFly 737Ground Services XFSDreamTeam ZürichREX Essential + OverdriveGround Environment X - EuropeUltimate Terrain X - EuropeEZCAUK2000 GatwickFSRecorderA couple of freeware airports I would be happy to upload images of the incorrect scenery, but it says: "Upload Skipped (Error503)", so that's not possible either.I have no idea what to do now, so I really hope you could help me. - Nikolas Edited December 31, 201312 yr by Jeff H Image deleted for weight. December 30, 201312 yr the fps drop i used to notice on my laptop, it was due to the gpu or the cpu touching max temp or high temps so they used to throttle down, but it could not be the issue in your system. you could recheck the addons and the GPU settings. check temps maybe it solve it. you can recreate the fsx.cfg you should always post your system config. December 30, 201312 yr Author Already tried to recreate the fsx.cfg :-/ I will post my system config tomorrow - it's getting late here :-) FSX-SE

December 31, 201312 yr Download HWMonitor and play. When FPS drop, minimize fsx and check maximum core temperature and tmpin0 temp (Gpu) Tomasz Zawadzki
December 31, 201312 yr Commercial Member I'm pleasantly surprised to see the initial response to this focus in on hardware instead of a hundred posts of various tweaks! I don't however think that is the problem here, especially given that that it's more likely a heat induced problem would cause errors, which arguably could cause the system to slow down just before the software errors. Better Settings:: Since you've rebuilt your FSX.CFG, you'll want to add / add-back the tweaks from http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html before you report back on temps. I strongly advise against changing any values manually except TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD (1024, 2048, 4096) unless you're exceptionally well versed in how those other settings affect rendering and associated timings, unless you're really into tweaking and experimentation. With your CPU and Graphics card, you should have performance you're happy with by using the website noted above. Back to Heat: Given the processor type and associated date of release, it may be time for a good internal cleaning anyway, if of course that hasn't been done already. Just a guess, but if you're computer was built within 6 months of the processor release date, then it may be that it needs a good cleaning. The lint / dust can cause heat to built both by clogging up vent and acting as an insulator. I sincerely hope you'll be able to return to enjoying your simulator very quickly. By all means report back to let everyone know one way or the other. Happy New Year. December 31, 201312 yr Author Hi Mephic and DaveCT2003. I tried to download the HWMonitor, but nothing seemed unusual there. I also tweaked the fsx.CFG again, but that didn't help either. I decided to do a complete reinstall of everything and so far, without any addons installed yet, it's working normal. I will try to see if I can find the problem, if it's caused by addons. Thanks for your help - and Happy New Year! FSX-SE
December 31, 201312 yr Yep the only thing is to install them one by one and perform thorough checking which one is causing troubles Tomasz Zawadzki
