Ok I stand corrected. The missed approach altitude on the legs page is irrelevant for the Vnav approach phase. The "on approach" logic however allows the MCP altitude to be set above the airplane altitude for the missed approach. When the MCP altitude setting is at least 300' above the current airplane altitude, Vnav continues to command a descent. As long as you meet these requirements, the aircraft will not capture Vnav ALT.

You are correct, V/S and FPA has nothing to do with Vnav or approach logic. This is a basic mode function.

What Blockpoint version are you using?

Hi Kyle, long time no see!

Been flying with SP1 I hope ;-)

I've been flying, but not with SP1 yet.

...just freezing my [rear] off flying people around in much smaller stuff (I'm hoping people appreciate the irony of the livery here):

You mean that Surf Wave behind you :-)

The small stuff is so much fun though :-)

And all the place you can go so easily in the USA...you're lucky to have your behind freeze off that way I say :-)......way more (too) complicated over here in Europe :-(

Got a few hours for Xmas from my girlfriend, will be the first time since 10 years, everybody Watch Out haha.

(But I will save it for spring :-) )

Great thread. Always interesting when the professionals discuss things. Also have been meaning to thank 777Simmer for the many contributions. (Apologies for off topic).

Thanks, appriciate that :-) Sometimes I wonder if maybe I should lay low for a while.

There is an impressive lot of people here that really know their stuff, even if they dont fly for a living!

Applaus to ya all :-)
