January 11, 201412 yr Hi GB Actually my settings for display were not the same. I have just followed yours save that I have put 0.0 at the end of both and .....hey presto all if fixed...AND fxx now changes to full screen in an instant!!!! Brill [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.0.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Antialias=1 Anisotropic=1 Glad you got it working. Just to clarify though one entry should end in 0.0 (that's the DX10 entry). The other should end in just 0 ( that's the DX9 entry). So you cfg should contain these two: [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.0.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Antialias=1 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Antialias=1 Anisotropic=1 However since it is working and if you are not going back to DX9 then just leave the cfg alone and fly. gb. January 12, 201412 yr No---only one. Mike Ok, then there sould be only one [DISPLAY.Device...] if you are running DX10 only. So it should be just: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.0.0] Mode=1920x1200x32 Anisotropic=1 AntiAlias=1 You can delete this bit: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.0.1] Mode=1920x1200x32 Make a backup copy of your cfg before you edit anything. gb. January 12, 201412 yr He has 2 monitors... I end up with 6 entries in my config for 3 monitors. 1 for each monitor for dx9 and for dx10. Just make sure they are all the same.
January 12, 201412 yr No---only one. Mike Sorry Mike getting my monitors/cards crossed. So correction after Waterman's post: For DX10 only with two monitors it should be: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.0.0] Mode=1920x1200x32 Anisotropic=1 AntiAlias=1 [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.0.1] Mode=1920x1200x32 Anisotropic=1 AntiAlias=1 Make a backup copy of your cfg before you edit anything. gb. January 12, 201412 yr Author Interesting but it may be that part of my full screen problem was that I had windows set for extended screens as using projector.......
January 12, 201412 yr Author Oh blimey .....any help gratefully received. Back to same problem on re booting PC of full screen not displaying full size and there being a delay again in changing modes. Removed all entries and just have this setting [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.0.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Antialias=1 Anisotropic=1
January 13, 201412 yr Interesting but it may be that part of my full screen problem was that I had windows set for extended screens as using projector....... What exactly do you have connected to your video card? That "Extend Desktop" option only comes up if you have more than one video device connected. gb. YSSY. January 13, 201412 yr Thank you waterman and gb. Mike No problem! It bit me in the past as I had also deleted all the extra entries. I noticed I had exactly what I was expecting with one monitor, but when I moved my window to the monitor in my cockpit performance went down the tube. That was when I realized the .1 and .2 I had were for the other monitors.
January 15, 201412 yr Hi Gb I have a 42 inch tv monitor and a projector cjc you really should update your signature so we know what's what. So which one is showing the smaller screen size when going to Full Screen? Or are both? Both the monitor and the projector should be set to "Extend these displays" in Windows. How have you got them set at present? Are you running both the monitor and projector at 1920x1080? gb. YSSY. January 16, 201412 yr Author Hi GB I have only been using the tv monitor recently and so do not think that is the problem. Oddly when I first boot up the pc the full screen option works like magic, its only when I close fsx and restart that smaller full screen re appears. I am enjoying the much faster fps!!!
