Is there anyway to increase AI taxi speed and landing roll taxi speed?

Featured Replies

I need to bump the speed up for my AI. Im using FS Live Traffic and the slow taxi speeds off the runway is causing huge back ups on approach.

Hi Charles,For FS2004, there is no known way to increase the taxi speed. There is a utility for FS2002 called taxispeed, but it DOES NOT work for FS9, even if some say so.Allard

Rats!...then I sincerely hope someone who knows how gets to it:-outta

I was disappointed that this was not addressed in the MS patch. This one problem, if solved, would *greatly* improve the entire AI traffic situation. I could actually keep my traffic slider (using Ultimate Traffic) near 100%. I've lost track of the number of times I've had an order to go around because the AI would get their a** off the runway ;-) Mike

Download and install the TrafficToolbox from the MSFS support website. If you open the "Traffic Map," you'll see a TCAS type display of all AI a/c around you.Click on the offending AI a/c and hit the "Delete" key. Voila! You've swatted that pesky pilot! ;)It's also pretty cool to be able to "double click" on an AI a/c and watch 'em fly in Spot View mode.It also helps you to maintain separation while approaching an apt., and allows you to "delete" any AI that're in your way...

Ouch, thats a bit extreme!

Like using the hand of God! LOL!Anyway, isn't a/c taxi speed only supposed to be very slow? I think at CYVR (Vancouver Canada) it's like 40 km/h (22 mph I think?), meaning really quite slow.

True, but they like you to expedite your exit of the active runway. Keep your speed up...I assume thats why the taxiways exit the runway at a slant. It helps you to take it greater than 20kts, then you can slow for your taxi to the gates.

What additional Traffic Settings, if any, does the Traffic SDK provide outside of what is available to us in-game?

Based on what I've seen from watching in the observation deck at CYWG, 22mph seems fast.. From what I've seen, FS2002's default of 12 knots seems more accurate.... Like most people, I'd love to have the AI clear the runway faster, but unfortunately, even if we could increase the taxi speed for AI aircraft so they vacate the runway faster, then we'll have AI aircraft racing around the taxiways like NASCAR or Indy race cars.... Not a tradeoff I'm particularly interested in... :(As I've said before, they need to have a seperate speed on landing. AI lands, slows to this speed (maybe 55-58 knots, just below the normal "kill your reverse thrust" speed), picks the next taxiway that it can slow down in time to exit on, and apply the brakes to slow to turning speed (relatively fast for high-speed exits and regular turning speed for sharper exits), and once clear of the runway they slow down if necessary to the regular taxi speed to taxi to the gate/parking. BOTH these speeds would be configurable in fs10.cfg so everyone can easily make their AI taxi however fast they want. :)
