Approach power / rpm

Featured Replies

What settings for approach power / rpm setting to get slowed up?

I have a hard time getting slow .. like to 130 then gear down then full flaps.

Try it the other way around... gear and one stage of flaps at 150-160..

I go to 80-82% torque and keep it there during the approach.

Where is the 80-82% torque reading from?

Where is the 80-82% torque reading from?

Sorry, my bad, I was actually reading the Turbine %RPM gauge, the one with a numeric readout.

Next time, I'll have a look at the Torque and Fuel Flow and see if there is a number to aim for..

Basically I was trying to use the Carenado performance charts to do some takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing ... by the numbers with the gauges.

The charts give the expected torque per engine/fuel flow/IAS based on altitude/ISA/GW and your RPM (like 1500 RPM for intermediate cruise power).
