Trim value

Is there some workaround or add-on program that can show this value in any kind of way?

same problem.. I havent been able to find a solution

Look over at your throttle quadrant in VC view using a hat switch, or spacebar+mouse.

Eyeball the trim.  It's a common misconception that, since the FMC specifies such an exact value, that your trim needs to be exactly that.

What if I told you that your CG is calculated off of everyone being the exact same weight?

Since everyone is NOT the same weight (and there's actually a ton of variance), how exact do you think that value truly is?

Answer: not.

If the FMC says 5.12 units of trim, set it close to the 5 and let it go.

As there is no 2D window support for the throttle quadrant in PMDG737NGX, it requires "mouse look" to check the trim value. Is there some workaround or add-on program that can show this value in any kind of way?

BR,

Magnus

No addon can give you the 2D pedestal view PMDG left out. EZdok would give you more VC view possibilities but it's not essential. Or you could type 'A' a few times from the 2D view to get to the preset 3D view PMDG provided of the pedestal if you don't want to use the mouse. Then type 'F9' back to 2D.

But you only have to set the trim once per flight. Is it really such a problem? As Kyle said it doesn't need to be exact. If you get within a quarter of a unit you are good to go.
