July 18, 201411 yr Commercial Member Guys, getting into a debate about PFPX's forecast accuracy versus ASN's actual accuracy is like arguing that an ASOS is more accurate than a weather person's weather briefing. Of course it is... The ASOS is seeing actual. The forecast is...well...it's a guess. Granted, it's an educated one, based on truckloads of data and crazy weather models, but it's still a guess. If you're looking for closer to real world accuracy (and inaccuracy), I'd use PFPX for your WX files. For a fix 12 hours ahead of you, you don't want current, you want forecast. Current is wholly useless unless the air is very, very, very stable (which it rarely is). If you're looking for ease of use, I'd let ASN do its thing. There's no right or wrong answer here. It's all about the tradeoff between mimicking real world accuracy/inaccuracy and ease of use. Kyle Rodgers
