January 8, 200521 yr Hello all, I just got my TrackIR 3 Pro + vector expantion today. I installed the latest driver from the web site, restarted then ran TrackIR. I ticked the tick box for Flight in the available profiles and when I click edit to view the heads, gauges and tracking, all is super smooth and accurate. the tracking box has 3 well defined green rectangles with no other light polution displayed. The do what I expect them to do smoothly. So I click OK and close to tray TrackIR, start FS2004 or Pacific Fighters and much to my supprise tracking in the virtual cockpits is hugly errattic with big jumps and long pauses, 4/5 sec or so. There is also a good deal of flickering (which stops when i move the hat out of view of the TrackIR unit. I don't have active camera installed). In FS I key assignments I removed look/pan keyboard/joystick assignments to revent the TrackIR fighting the stick. I seem to get more flickering in FS and more juddering in Pacific Fighters. I dont' know what else to try, any ideas? Thanks
January 8, 200521 yr Nope it works flawless for me. Have you try to disconnect the TrackIR device and then insert it again? Sometimes it goes funny for me. Also at what distance is the TrackIR unit? Also make sure if you use the naturalpoint cap that you put some tape on the reflector which is already there so it don
January 8, 200521 yr I tryed unpluging it, to no avail. I taped over the reflector built into the cap when I took it out of the box. There is no other light or reflectors interfering at all, none picked up on the green dots tracking box. It tracks perfectly using the TrackIR program, then if I alt tab into FS 1 second later, it's really jerky, and of course nothing had changed in the room.Im stumped.
January 8, 200521 yr And you start TrackIR before you start FS9 and PF?Have you tried running in both 2dof and 6dof view in FS 2004?naturalpoint have a forum as well make sure to ask there too.
January 8, 200521 yr Maybe you have tried this already. Try to change the light filtering setting. (Main menu-->view-->tracking-->setting)Select the Light filtering box and move the slider. This sounds stupid but when you are in the desktop, your monitor produces more light (so your TrackIr is working). When you switch to Flight simulator or Pacific Fighters the background is darker and there is not enough light so you
January 8, 200521 yr Author I tried Track 3 and Vector on two different computers.1. On the Win NT Box it flickiers ...like you said.2. On the win 2000... it doesn't even work. I am still waiting to hear from them. It has been more than two weeks now. From what I hear from everyone..its very good.. so I don't want to sent it back either..Tough choice. January 8, 200521 yr During the install a '.dll' file gets put into the modules folder. I'm not sure of the name....something like "IR2002.dll". Remove that file and you should be fine. January 8, 200521 yr Author Thanks Howard,I think I know what you are talking about.. Someone at the TrackIR support forum told me the same thing. It was a FS 2002 DLL file.the thing is.. I can't find that file in the module folder or in any folder. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 9, 200521 yr Thanks Howard, the dll file was the culprit. Now it's running I have to say this is the single most innovative leap towards realism I've come across since I installed FS95. I was simply blown away flying some lazy aero's on the zone, so natural and smooth is the tracking. The best money I ever saved up.
January 9, 200521 yr Author >What modules do you have in the module folder btw?I have TrackIRFS2004.dll Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 9, 200521 yr Author And another thing. It runs on a Windows XP/Laptop.. and but I keep sinking in the seat slowly.when I press F12.. I am like growing shorter...and shorter...whats up with that? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
