January 19, 201412 yr Hi I am looking at the Aerosoft Twin Otter, I know that the RXP stuff can only be used as a popup which has been stopping me. I am wondering though if they have included the option of taking the GPS out completely? Leaving you with no GPS. Just wondering Thanks
January 19, 201412 yr Commercial Member Nope, there isn't an alternative panel what doesn't show the GPS. It's always there. Of course, it doesn't mean you have to always turn it on. I followed the conversation(s) that occurred when the requests were made to have an option for the RXP unit. It's perhaps my only disappointment in this otherwise stellar package that they weren't willing at all to accommodate such a request. I have a running 'bank' or sum of plus/minus points with all developers that I purchase from. Each time something happens, good or bad, I either add or remove points from that developer. If they get too low, I won't buy from them, regardless of how much I might want a particular product. The curtness with which the RXP requests were denied caused me to take away a few points from Aerosoft (they're still on the plus side, however). Jim Stewart Milviz Person.

Stuff to think about for sure. Sounds like an interesting list you have by the way.
January 20, 201412 yr Luckily, they have made some cosmetic changes to their gps, so it looks ok, and, with linkgps set in the rxp unit, the flightplan displays in the panel.. It is definitely workable imho.. Bert

January 20, 201412 yr Commercial Member Hmmm... I realized that I came off quite negative there. I should make it clear that despite my disappointment with the refusal to look at RXP integration, the Twin Otter Extended package is easily one of my favorite addons, and one that I was quite looking forward to. The fact that they included both the -100 and the -300 series, along with almost every possible variety of landing gear available, is quite commendable. My point is that the lack of RXP integration in the model probably shouldn't dissuade anyone from a purchase, since if you're a fan at all of the type (as I am), this is the best there is. My previous negative tone was only from a focus on the one single issue that caused me some disappointment. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.

I think I will end up getting it too. Having a no GPS option would be nice given the no RXP support but oh well Lee
