January 21, 201412 yr I want a systematic guide to getting started with Flight Simulator. I want a guide that is current, and discusses how to get started with settings, and advice on advanced configuration and problem solving. Is there such a guide (free or paid)? Thanks, Steve
January 21, 201412 yr The AVSIM Guide is some good point to start from. It gives detailed advice on setting up FSX, adding/changing certain configuration entries and so on. What you call "advanced configuration" and "problem solving" is hard to achieve in a general way, since it will very often depend on your hardware setup and the combination of addons used. However, there are some things that are generally considered to help against certain types of CTDs: Installing the freeware version of FSUIPC and inserting a certain version of the UIAutomationCore.dll (see the discussion here). For specific problem solving, it's usually better to come here and ask your question. To help us help you it might be good to fill out the "My PC" info form of your profile, so we can see your system specs. Florian

January 21, 201412 yr Author Excellent. Is there any guide to the FSX filesystem? Like what the files are, and where they are located.
