January 22, 201412 yr Hello All... Here's an odd one. I recently re-installed FS9 in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9... I open it, I add scenery, I create free flights, no problems.. I tried to enter (out of interest) 'Flying Lessons,' 'Century of Flight' & 'Learning Centre' and I'm getting the dreaded message: "This programme Cannot Display the Webpage" (for all of them) Can anyone tell me why please?..I've got FSX and there's no problem there. I've also got FS9 on my 'allowed' list for Firewalls etc...So can'rt be that... I don't seem to have problems with other internet access...Could be quicker, but that's where I live!! Thanks in ad\vance ZA
January 22, 201412 yr Author Hello... "Sorry mate you appear to be off our radar!" Does that mean you can't help or is my question unclear? Thanks ZA
January 22, 201412 yr Seems you're missing some files from the uires folder. Those menu options are formatted as html web pages and are stored in the uires folder...there should be no need to go on the internet to display them.
January 22, 201412 yr Author Hello..ematheson Thanks for taking the time to answer... Seems you're missing some files from the uires folder Next Q...How do I find them please?..I'm no expert at these things as you've no doubt guessed  I've got an awful feeling this might be not too easy to resolve! Thanks ZA Hi Again.. Answering my own Q...found said folder (Uires) and the links (Google Chrome html) mentioned. Clicked on them and got 'Files could not be found' Tried the same thing in FSX..no problem, went straight to where it should've gone...Something is clearly amiss here! Thanks ZA
January 22, 201412 yr Something is clearly amiss here! In your Uires folder the first html document you find should be titled "blank", right click and check the file properties to make sure it reads "Type of file: xxxxx HTML Document". Where xxxxx = Google Chrome. It seems you have already done that so next find the file named "fl01" right click on that file and open it with notepad, you should see this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Lessons</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <frameset rows="80,*" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0"> <frame src="../FSWeb/Lessons/Lessons_index_nav.htm" name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" marginheight="0" noresize> <frame src="../FSWeb/Lessons/Lessons_index_mainframe.htm" name="mainFrame" scrolling="auto" noresize> </frameset> <noframes><body> </body></noframes> </html> I will assume that is what you find. You will notice the two lines that refer to /FSWeb/, that is where and why you would get the file not found error message - if the FSWeb folder is missing or the file docs referenced in it are missing. In which case you would need to restore the FSWeb folder from your FS9 disc set. I hope this help you solve you problem. Regards, Mel
January 23, 201412 yr Author Hi Mel... Thanks again for once more stepping into the breach and offering to help...Did what you advised.... Searched disk 1 MSGAME2.CAB for the FSweb Folder...I believe it resides in there...I used this to help me find it BTW.... http://www.cat-tamer.com/flightsim/faq001.html Opened said CAB File...No FSweb Folder...just a long list of jpegs, .gifs and some .html files Can it be that I create a 'FSWeb' folder and drop these in to it? Apologies for being slow on the uptake  Thanks ZA
January 23, 201412 yr Can it be that I create a 'FSWeb' folder and drop these in to it? I will look into that and let you know unless someone jumps in with the answer. Apologies for being slow on the uptake. No apology is needed. Don't be hard on yourself. Regards, Mel
