AI traffic?

Featured Replies

Hi there. I bought Ultimate Traffic, but I couldn't underatand what had to be done to 'configure' everything it just sits in it's box. What I did do was download Tom Gibsons magnificent A.I. planes and I was able to understand his very straightforward instructions about sorting it all out and now my skies are filled with elderly aircraft launching themselves into a variety of mountains in FS9, with the outstanding help of ATC naturellement.TG also explains how to get rid of the default A.I which I think is great.Tom Gibsons outstanding works are freeware and well worth seeking out.

Hi there,Tom Gibson's site is, if the blue thingy works:www.calclassic.comHope that does it

I have until recently been a happy user of Ultimate Traffic.Last week I had a look at the size of individual AI aircraft files in GA-Traffic (the AI traffic generator for smaller GA aircraft) and was surprised to see that many supposedly "AI" friendly aircraft in UT were actually quite large files (ie over 1/1.5MB in size). This would explain why I have had to reduce UT AI traffic down to around 15-25% to prevent my system slowing to a crawl in busy airspace or near large international airports.Am now considering ditching UT and going back to installing my own AI optimized commercial traffic to speed up performance.Has anyone else noticed this or checked the size of "AI" commercial files in UT? Would be interested to know.RegardsAdamWin XP Pro - Dell Dimension 4500P4 2.54 GHz - 1GB RAMHiTech Radeon 128MB 9800Pro IceQ19" CRT 1600x1200 @ 100hzAudiophile 24/96FS2004 + UK2000 1/2/3/4/5/6/EGLL PROUK VFR Photographic Scenery 1/2/3/4UK VFR Terrain MeshUltimate VFR : RealAir SF-260Ultimate IFR : PMDG 737NGUltimate FUN : RealAir Scout

Wow, Thanks guys,Never would have guessed that my simple question would bring out that many answers to my problem.Last night I have done some downloading from the website of 'Project-AI' and I was impressed by their work.I tried installing the planes and their installer works like a charm. No hassle (but you've got some reading to do first), and as icing on the cake, the framerates stay more than acceptable.Someone mentionned the AI-aardvark website here in this thread and I have been charmed by their work from day one. So I will take a look at those to this weekend. The only negative side on this ai-thing is time... Except for the readymade packages, you have to invest quite some time in installing traffic. Time I'd rather be spending doing some flying...Oh well, you can't have everything at the same time I guess. Thanks for all the input sofar.Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium
