January 23, 201412 yr Took this photo today of a Norwegian Air Ambulance EC135 and EC145, Norwegian police EC135, Royal Norwegian Air Force Sea King from 330 Sqn, and a Bell 412 from 720 Sqn in formation showing their final respects to EMS helicopter pilot Bjørn Nergård. The aircraft executed the missing man formation over the funeral procession. Nergård and medical doctor Anders Nakstad both lost their lives in a tragic accident on January 14 when their EC135 helicopter struck power lines during a confined landing at the scene of a road traffic accident. A third crewmember was seriously injured. A tribute to all who serve to help others. Daniel Nilsson
January 24, 201412 yr I live in a large city in the US and the flying these guys do is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention getting in & out of tight spaces for the evac but then they have to land on a 30 story building (Along with other choppers downtown) in all weather with the buildings affecting the winds. Not sure but guessing a lot of them are ex-military. Upmost respect for all of our Medflight Teams. Thanks, Ron Fields
January 24, 201412 yr +1. And my own tribute to those who have given their lives doing this job to save others. R Goodson
January 24, 201412 yr Author The following is a news interview with Bjørn Nergård from 2008. I think the picture of him landing by a car wreck, with the headline - "I am just the driver", says it all. Respect! http://www.oblad.no/badebyen/jeg-er-bare-sjaforen-1.3871094 Daniel Nilsson
January 24, 201412 yr Not my language but you can tell it was a tough set down. You can go on you tube and key in Med Flight or what ever is in your area. It will take you to all of them and show some amazing feats (and disasters). Thanks, Ron Fields
