Quality wings or Captain sim 757?
I got the CS757 version some time ago and tried to fly it. The flight dynamics seem wrong, but the FMC bugs were the killer for me. Not being used anymore. Waiting for someone to produce a good model.

FlyDubai B738 Crashes on approach to Rostov-on-Don
Not a controlled attempt at a landing. Icing? They had been holding for a long time. And if they were based in Dubai. Guess we will see.

Blurry Ground Textures
I had this when using Fiber Accelerator. Reduced the frame rates and it went away. So I think they are right. Lower frames or changing the Fiber frame faction would be where I would start.

CTDs After Upgrading to Windows 10!
If you go into msconfig and have the system do a Selective Startup and have it start without the startup items loading. Helped a lot for me.

CTDs After Upgrading to Windows 10!
Does it still crash after a clean boot? I had a similar problem after upgrading to Windows 7 64 bit and found that if I open it with a clean boot it works fine. Not sure about Windows 10. Also, kudos to the people who put together the Avsim CTD guide. Helpful ideas.

FSX DX10 Shots Using New Nvidia 258.50 Update
I used these settings in FSX DX10. They work great for me too. A keeper for sure. Thanks!

Well impressed with the 777 after VAS Test, SS of settings
Dunno, but I just landed at Dulles with all AI traffic on and taxied to the gate w/o an OOM crash in the PMDG 777-200. Massive improvement with this patch. Wow!!!

TransAsia ATR Crash in Taipei
Agree on the stall. Dropped off on the left wing. Don't think that was intentional. Would have been better if he dumped the nose and went for the river. Still, remarkable and delighted that there were survivors.

To MD-11 or not to MD-11

System Mechanic memory management FSX
rlgoodson replied to Lon David's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI have been using System Mechanic for many years on XP and Windows 7. I like it a lot. BUT I do still have to watch my virtual address space. Like someone said here, different issue.

P3D Fiber Acclerator! form FSPS
Not only that, but rudeness does NOT promote our hobby to people newer to it than we are. And we ALL have an interest in keeping the hobby alive and well I believe. I dunno how Fiber Accelerator works in P3D but in FSX it works great unless you have a very high end system, there from what I can tell results are mixed.

What Kind of Flying Have You Been Doing?
Andd...we hope no one from the FAA is monitoring this thread....lol. I usually fly the heavy tin but recently going back to the Flight 1 ATR-72 routes for Azul Airlines in South America. Some of those airports in SA are VERY challenging.

NYC and FSX: MD-11 vs. 777 VAS usage.
Thanks for the heads up.

NYC and FSX: MD-11 vs. 777 VAS usage.
Thanks for the tip. And it sounds like the QW's one is the same. So there is no really good model for the 757 right now, huh?

NYC and FSX: MD-11 vs. 777 VAS usage.
Yep, I use DX 10 also. Also got Fiber Accelerator, which helped a lot, And honestly, if I start with the PMDG 777 on the runway and take off right away I can do it. I can also land in NYC but forget taxing to the gate. And I AM running 32 bit soooo...

NYC and FSX: MD-11 vs. 777 VAS usage.
I have a mid range i5, and the PMDG 777 is right at the top of my computer's abilities. Which means I will prob hesitate to pick up any new PMDG titles. My next aircraft acquistions will prob be a 767 (the level D) and maybe a 757(CS)? I love PMDG's stuff and fly using it regularly, but am unwilling to lay out the cash for the hardware required to run it.

Oh, I do, I do.

NYC and FSX: MD-11 vs. 777 VAS usage.
Every once in a while in this hobby I have "Duh!" moments. I have a mid-range system. I suddently realized yesterday that if I have a flight ending or originating from the NYC area that I should use the MD-11 (when possible) as the aircraft even if the real life flight uses a 777. The MD-11 has FAR lower VAS usage and is more frame rate friendly and I have no problem flying out of the NYC area with it. I do with the 777. A simple substitution fills the bill.

FSX Fiber Accelerator?
One thing I think is true is that those of you with very high end systems may not benefit from this program much. You can run FSX at will. No "throttling" required.

FSX Fiber Accelerator?
Second "wow" event. Was getting ready to take off from DD KEWR in the iFly 737-800. Watched the free VAS going away. Started FA an it increased to 328000. I really think I'm going to like this program. One thing I did notice is that, at least in the NYC area, you don't get the big boost in FPS you do elsewhere. Think it's all the urban area.

FSX Fiber Accelerator?
Flew out of Pudong yesterday in the PMDG 777 with low ceilings and embedded thunderstorms everywhere...didn't break out until around 20000 feet. I was surprised to see the frame rates were good at 15-20 fps. When I cleared the tops I was at 700000 free VAS. Flew all the way to Memphis and LANDED w/o having to restart to free up VAS. This was new for me. Wow. Nice work guys. I like!
