January 26, 201412 yr I have the PMDG T7. There is a button "Map". When I click on it the button moves but I do not see what it does. Am I missing something? What does it do? Thanks Jim

January 26, 201412 yr The MAP mode is recommended for most phases of flight. Presented track up, this mode shows airplane position relative to the route of flight against a moving map background. The PLN mode is presented true north up. The active route may be viewed using the STEP prompt on the CDU LEGS pages. Safe & smooth flying, Clarke Ramsey

February 22, 201412 yr He's asking about the map display for the ND screen. It selects the map view vs. plan view or whatever display mode you are looking for. Map view is the standard view.

Although the number of pages of documentation is a bit daunting, they do contain an enormous amount of information. Since all of the documents are in PDF format, you can search them very easily.
