There's some great photo scenery for Europe at http://zonephoto.x-plane.fr/.

 

I've recently got very interested in PilotEdge, I'm therefore looking for an equivalent photo scenery resource for California. Does such a beast exist?

I've not seen photoreal for the entire state of California but simheaven.com has the Los Angeles basin, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Phoenix areas available for free. All have autogen and night lighting. Each covers quite a large area. For example Socal coverage starts between Palm Springs and Pomona and covers all the way to the coast and includes the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, Van Nuys etc. 

Vegas covers from Lake Mead out past Death Valley. Phoenix covers way north and SFO covers well south of the city. Haven't been south of PHX, South of Los Angeles or North of SFO yet so I can't tell you how far the coverage goes in those areas.

zonefree only has europe atm. I would suggest try http://simheaven.com/?page_id=322 and search here it has US photos.

Thanks very much. I downloaded the LA scenery and now my pattern work at John Wayne is much more interesting.
