  1. I don't use either of those planes you've listed, but usually if the plane vendor has used the standard X-Plane GNS unit then you should get a 2D pop out when clicking on the "Glass" of the GPS unit. As far as airports not being as visible, I'm sure I read somewhere that in real life airports aren't normally anywhere near as easy to spot as they are in FSX/P3D.
  2. You guys know that this thread is nearly 4 years old? I'd imagine they've got the answers they were after or have moved on.
  3. anyone know what dataref it's playing with?
  4. AirfoilLabs Cessna 172 Ortho4XP photo scenery World2XPlane GBPro
  5. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm already running with both of those.
  6. I'd love to know how you get these beautiful thickly covered wood/forest areas. Even with my trees set to tree hugger, my wooded areas are as patchy and unsightly as an unshaven teen boys chin.
  7. I don't think NavData are going to be too happy that you're posting a file up in full, a snippet would probably be best. I worked out the salient points myself with the Navigraph proc file by reading the chart for a procedure and picking out the the data that matched.
  8. Have you tried listening to the ATIS at the departure airport? For arrivals you need to look up the METAR (our the condition report from your weather engine) and take a best guess at which runway has the wind blowing down it.
  9. Is it definitely FS2Crew? Could be something else like some VoiP comms from an online connection to FSCloud/IVAO/Vatsim/PilotEdge ?
  10. Nice shots, but I think you may be pushing the airframe a little too hard!

  12. Sorry, it wasn't my intention to endorse another product in your support forums and I'm not quite sure how I did. I was merely outlining my current options and reasoning behind the decisions I have made to date. Thanks for your input. Is there a changelog I can read online somewhere?
  13. Guessing at the PFD freq of 110.3 @296, mountains in the background, I'd suggest the airport is ZMUB - Chinggis Khaan International Airport
  14. Is this "seeing lights all the way into the distance" a thing that's special to Night Environment or can you achieve the same thing with ORBX lights? Has anyone with a full fat ORBX region done a night time comparison between NE and ORBX?
  15. Rekindling my love for P3D after an extended stay over at X-Plane and I'm in the market for a good GPS. I'm shying away from the Flight1 GTN750 option because I like to keep my GA instrumentation at least a little believable. Look at a gallery of pictures of GA cockpits and you'll more often than not see a GNS430 or it's larger brother. I'm also shying away from the Flight1 offering as I often read that it's a dead product. The developer apparently abandoned it long ago (Edit: I may be confused here with the RXP GPS units - still reading!). I can see there appears to be a/the developer of the Mindstar GNS430/530 fairly active in this forum answering support issues but is it being still developed or is it a mature product that is no longer being improved/bug fixed?
  16. Clean P3D v3.2. No other addons or image processing. Loaded straight up and grabbed a screenshot GTX770
  17. Have you considered the Carenado PC-12 with the GTN750 mod? http://www.avsim.com/topic/452247-gtn-750-in-pc-12/ I don'y have either of these so I can't comment on how good they are.
  18. If it wasn't for devs selling half baked aircraft then we wouldn't have much of a market for excellent developers like SimCoders!
  19. Doesn't work either. Apparently it's an expired link. If it's a link from this group https://www.facebook.com/groups/207012966130101/ then no link will work for non members as it's a closed group.
  20. I'm gonna take a punt at guessing the addons in use for folks. SkyMaxx Pro v3 (Payware) RealTerraHaze (DonationWare) World2XPlane (Donationware) Rotate MD-80 (Payware) Possibly some post shot editing (desaturation, contrast) That should about cover most of what's in use. Not sure on the airport. Possibly KJFK payware.
  21. I haven't been over to "other" forums to check but doesn't Goran usually frown upon this type of shenanigans and say you'll break the aircraft?
  22. I bought it when it was first released and haven't used it since. It's not too bad. however, It's quite buggy. Shortly after release the author looked to have been abandoned it after taking everyone's money.. I'd probably avoid it.
  23. Do yourself a favour. 1. Get yourself the dataref editor plugin (http://www.xsquawkbox.net/xpsdk/mediawiki/DataRefEditor). 2. Scoot on over to youtube and watch these two videos 3. Go and read Murmer's post on using the art controls to edit the default clouds to get them much more realistic. (http://www.avsim.com/topic/474978-still-experimenting-with-clouds/) 4. Turn off SkyMaxx and RTH. 5. Sit back in all the glory that is your personalised settings, just the way you like it! Optional 6. Stick the settings you like in a .lua script to automate the settings process on startup.
  24. IIRC from a previous similar question I've read somewhere. Night lighting LOD is directly mapped to the World Detail Distance setting. I don't believe I've heard any plans for it to have it's own setting assigned.
  25. Odd. I too received an email, but it said it's due to be released on Friday 23rd. Edit: That does indeed seem true. You can't complete the order on X-Aviation.com
