EFASS

Hello all!

A friend of mine just told me about this add-on for x-plane and upon some research I have not found a whole lot on it.

Is anybody using it? How is it? Is the weather engine good?

Thanks in advance!

I bought it when it was first released and haven't used it since.

It's not too bad. however, It's quite buggy. Shortly after release the author looked to have been abandoned it after taking everyone's money..

I'd probably avoid it.

its really good to use it as your main flight  map, creating routes with sid & stars exports etc.

too many issues regarding weather engine ,  i strongly recommend FS Global Real Weather or X-plane default weather.

Ok awesome! I appreciate the info and advice!

I heard a few good things but as you guys have pointed out, it doesn't seem too popular.

If you are looking for a good payware planner, have a look at PFPX, it is very very good.

While the developer not being too active is unfortunate, and there are better weather engine options, the EFASS package as a whole is imho quite incredible. It's my go-to flight planner/e-flightbag/moving map. Works well for me :)

Works well for me too - author had an illness and could not debug it - no one knows what is happening with it at the moment. I am not as picky as others and use it mainly as a moving map. Shows all Vatsim or Ivao traffic too - wonder when the server will be shut down though - that will be the end of it then.

Use it on network and I have FSX,P3D v2 v3, Xplane and it works with all of them - one of the fortunate one.

Looking at the website, it does appear to have a lot of potential. The fact that it can be used on multiple platforms is definitely a plus.

I'm a EFASS user, it's still developed and is a great tool for simmers.

Yeah i will give it a positive as well. Might not be as impressive as PFPX but there have been a bunch of updates to it this year and the moving map part is also excellent.

Multiple? I only see Wirows. Does it run at least with Wine?

Have just reinstalled and working fine.

I bought it and only used it a few times. For me it was a waste of a LOT of money - it is not cheap.

It is VERY slow to load, and that bugs me. The flight planner is frustrating to use. I gave up on it and then just used it as a moving map. But then I found Plan-G, and that is a better moving map - plus it does a few other things that EFASS does.

The flight planning side is not comprehensive, but it is good enough for my flights in FSE.
