  1. Looking at the website, it does appear to have a lot of potential. The fact that it can be used on multiple platforms is definitely a plus.
  2. Ok awesome! I appreciate the info and advice! I heard a few good things but as you guys have pointed out, it doesn't seem too popular.
  3. Hello all! A friend of mine just told me about this add-on for x-plane and upon some research I have not found a whole lot on it. Is anybody using it? How is it? Is the weather engine good? Thanks in advance!
  4. I didn't know that default settings vary depending on setup. My autogen is all set to normal. Reflections are off. I really don't see the point of reflections if your 30k feet up and your not flying over water. I guess it all really depends on your flying routes and taste. Shadows are medium and cast on self and ground. IMO its looks very nice. But hey, everybody is different. Yup that is right. 8x SGSS The frames in bad weather (rain and lots of clouds) are about 30+fps with ASN default cloud layers. I would give you a more accurate number if I wasn't at work... I have not put these settings through a hurricane yet and I am sure it will be heavy on the system. Lol I will try to put some screens together for everybody to see.
  5. Hello all! I have been reading a few threads here on how to get stutter free smooth flights with good FPS. I thought I would share my experience with my setup and settings. I am always tweaking to obtain smooth perfection and I think I am very close. As we all know, everybody will have something different with different outcomes. So, lets get started Current setup: i7 4770k OC @ 4.4Ghz GTX 980ti 16 Gb RAM P3DV2.5 Settings: FXAA- On or Off (I play around with this) Anisotropic Filtering- 8x MSAA- 4 Texture Res- Medium VSync- Off Target Frames- Unlimited Lens flare- Off Landing lights- On Everything else- Default P3D config: Affinity Mask: 84 Lod Radius: 1.00 (I think) I am still experimenting with this one. Nvidia Inspector settings: Antialiasing Mode- Enhance application settings Antialiasing Transparency Supersampling- 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling With these settings I am achieving a very smooth 80-100+ FPS in default aircraft with FTX Global, ASN and REX Soft clouds running. With PMDG 737 at KGEG and addons mentioned above, I am seeing silky smooth stutter free 35-60 FPS (weather permitting) So, there you have it. With these settings, I am able to have stutter free flight experiences. If you so choose to try these settings, use them as a starting point. I hope this helps anybody who has been trying to achieve that perfect balance of eye candy and performance.
  6. Thanks everybody for the input! Jazzfan I figured out what you were talking about with the control panel. I am guessing that it is now called the "system panel" which works just fine. Also, good to know Im not the only one that has problems with the views and missing scenery! Hopefully this is either fixed with V2.3 or a hot-fix from Majestic.
  7. Hello all! I know everybody was just as excited as I was when we finally got the long awaited Dash 8 patch which includes P3DV2 compatibility! Lucky for me I was able to get the full install from FSPilotshop with the new version. After installing, right off the bat I am having issues... First: MJC84 System Panel icon leads to nowhere. I click the icon and windows cannot find it. Second: The engine sounds are reversed. When I start the left engine, the sound is on the right. When starting the right engine, the sound is on the left. (headset is hooked up properly) Third: The views are messed up. When viewing from the outside, the view is locked in at "locked spot". When viewing from the tower, half of the scenery is missing. It doesn't matter what zoom it is either. Half of all scenery is missing. If anybody else is having these issues please chime in! If not, maybe I did something wrong.. Idk.. Thank you in advance! Side note: I was really surprised that the installer actually installed a DirectX update as well. I am very OCD when it comes to keeping things up to date. Anybody else get a DirectX update?
  8. Hello all! Just bought FSDT GSX and well, it doesn't work... I cant seem to install it at all. After checking the P3D master compatibility list, it should install with no issues. Here is a sequence of events when I click to install. Double click installer Window (Prepar3d 2.X found in: D:\) "Do you want to install here?" CLICK Yes New window pops up I click "Yes" click Install Install progress makes it to 5.60MB New window pops up "Error" "You must enter full path with drive letter; for example C:\APP or UNC path in the form: \\server\share" So I tried the manual method of selecting my P3D drive and click "Ok" and I get a message displaying "FSX not found" Anybody know a work around? I did try to install both as admin and without admin. According to FSDT, this program should install directly to P3D v2 without the use of the migration tool.
  9. I too experience blurries in P3D... i7 4770k @ 4.2Ghz 4 core 8 threads GTX 780ti Shouldn't be any reason for slow loading of textures and the horrendous blurries I am getting... Good info on the bottom of your post. I may have to try those!
  10. So its been a couple months and I was wondering if there has been any updates?
  11. Glad to here Opus is working with 2.2. Been nervous to install it....
  12. Cant wait for the update! Thanks crosswind!
  13. Yes! My panels work again!
  14. Nope. Only thing they said is that they were looking into it. According to LM its not just this aircraft with issues and they are also looking into these problems.
  15. I too have experienced this sudden pressure and wind shift. This has actually caused my aircraft to overstates too. Not good when your 45 minutes into a flight. I wonder of this is a settings issue?
