Anyone know if this is possible?

Hi all, not quite sure where to post this one, but as it is FSX related hope it's OK here?  I am trying to achieve the following, and wonder if some clever person might have an answer?  I own my own 737-800 cockpit.  I use a TripleHeadtoGo Unit to give me three screens (using three projectors) coming from a G-force 480 gtx/windows 7 64 bit.

Within my cockpit I have a spare small 6" X 4" monitor, which at present is used for the lower engine instrumentation; actually just set up to duplicate the main engines display above.  My idea was to try and use this spare monitor for the ATC window within FSX.  I plugged in (another spare old monitor) into the second DVi output from my graphics card, fired up my main Server PC, and the monitor was recognized by Windows.  So far so good I thought, and I was able to drag and drop any item from my main three screen desktop over to the additional monitor.

I now fired up FSX, and tried to drag and drop the ATC menu onto this spare monitor, but no good.  The mouse would still go across OK, but not the ATC window.  Could it be that this ATC window is simply 'locked' within the game as it were, and this simply is not possible?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Just wondering if my Post above is showing as no one has even read it?

It was showing '0 views', now 208!, so I'm guessing this one isn't going to get a positive answer.

Well - I for one viewed it, and am Following the topic, since I also thought about doing this. Afraid I don't know the answer though..

You will get a better response if you have a meaningful title.

Zoran, the title was to create interest, otherwise a very Long title would be necessary!  Anything else helpful you have to say or are you just wasting ink?

I have a four monitor setup and the ATC window can be dragged to anyone of them.

(That little 480 must be working it's heart out driving five screens :) )

Hi gboz, thanks for response.  I think the problem I have is probably due to my resolution.  I can only use 1024 X 768 giving me 3072 X 768.  This is the native resolution of my short throw projectors (NEC WT610's)

If I increase this resolution then I get a six inch gap between pictures on my three screens.  I think this would then work (the ATC window could be moved), but as I would have to move my projectors and decrease the picture in front of me quite a bit, it wouldn't really be worth doing.

Perhaps you could comment on the above to see if you agree?

Selkan, doubt it would be connected to your main screens resolution.

So you can drag everything else to the fourth screen except the ATC window?

AFAIK the only thing different about the ATC window is that it is transparent.

Transparency usually requires 32 bit colour.

Check that that fourth monitor is not running at 16 bit.

Did you undock the ATC window? (right click on it, Undock Window).

Hope this helps,

Well, I have tried again!!  Firstly, things are running at 32 bit colour, and secondly if I right click on the ATC Window, I don't have an option to Undock Window.  I had thought of that one before starting this Post.

I have a number of Addons i.e. FSUIPC/GSX/Acu Feel etc etc, and all of these Menus when brought up within FSX can be dragged and altered as required on the forth monitor.  It's just the ATC window that dosn't want to be dragged out of the 'three screen set up' onto the forth monitor.

I am wondering anyway, as the spare monitor I have mentioned needs to run at a Res. of 800 X 600, so as my FSX is running at 1024 X 768 (3072 X 768 across), I wonder even if I could drag the ATC wondow across, it might look very odd - it would however be nice to see!

So your running fsx in windowed mode?

What happens if you run fsx in full screen mode?

No, I'm running in full screen mode!  I'm not sure we are going to succeed here, but much appreciate the ongoing thoughts from you guys.
