February 5, 201412 yr Reserve fuel will vary according to many factors, FL is not one of them. If you do not bother to precisely calculate fuel and keep track of fuel consumption, just enter 1 and you are good to go. Cost index is relation between time cost and fuel cost. It seems easy to calculate, but cost of time is affected by so many factors. Anyway, high CI = higher cruise speed and higher fuel consumption. Low CI = lower cruise speed and lower consumption. CI will affect your climb/descend airspeed, and your climb/descend rate as consequence of that. You can use whatever number you want if allowed by aircraft CI range. February 5, 201412 yr Author Okay. I think I have a better image, but will the numbers I put in for both the area affect Decent? That's what's been going on. I USUSALLY put in 5 for Reserv, an 25 for Costindx, but that sometimes results in an un-contestant decent. (over speed below 10000) And: Des Path Not Achieveable
