February 4, 201412 yr Tonight on final rwy 16 (first run since I switched to DX10) this is what it looked like. Anyone else seen this and is there a way to fix it?
February 4, 201412 yr Commercial Member yes not specifically there but I know there are a couple of airports with that issue. Almost certainly it will be ok if you move the legacy slider fully left - that may impact some FS8 aircraft a little, but you can create and load a profile. It only occurs near dawn. February 4, 201412 yr Author Moving the legacy slider all the way to the left solved the problem just like you guessed. Thanks again for your quick support!!
February 20, 201412 yr Author Just noticed a bad side-effect after moving the Legacy Shader slider all the way to the left, after doing this my IVAO MTL aircraft are displayed in white during night. I tried moving the slider one notch to the right and that seems to be the best compromise because LGTS still looks OK and now the IVAO MTL aircraft at least look better. The painting on the tail still is in white but the fuselage looks better. I have IVAO MTL aircraft to display online traffic when flying on VATSIM but I'm thinking maybe getting rid of IVAO MTL and replace it with UT2. Does someone know how UT2 aircraft work with DX10, are they displayed correctly even with the Legacy slider a notch to the left? Too bad you can't both have and eat the cake
February 20, 201412 yr Try page 62, Richard.... Tagging an aircraft..... It worked with the Rick Piper's FS9 freeware Chipmunk and the LH Maddog. pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
February 20, 201412 yr Author Unfortunately this did no difference. Maybe the best option is to get some other AI aircraft package that is DX10 compatible. I read in some other thread you're using MyTrafficX which should be fully DX10 compatible, are you still using this product and can you confirm all AI aircraft look good in DX10 at night even with the Legacy slider a notch to the left?
February 21, 201412 yr Yep - still using the MTX 5.something, Richard. I think I might have a few folks disagree with me if I said "they look good in DX10 at night..." equally the same in DX9, though. I think that the UT2 aircraft are better-detailed and perhaps not so "simplistic" as the MTX AI tends to be... But I did do a search on the UT2 support forum, and.... piliwi Licensed Member Joined: August-03-2007 Points: 180 Post Options Thanks(0) Quote Reply Posted: February-13-2014 at 4:27am I can agree with that. I also use the DX10 scenery fixer together with UT2 and there are no problems, just try to regulary update your paints/aircraft textures with the latest ones. I installed all my aircraft models with their textures in a new UT aircraft folder (you can name it as you want) and directed the path to that folder in the aircraft.cfg, so i don't use the UT2 aircraft folder with the pre installed textures, so it's possible to regulary update everything my way. February 21, 201412 yr Author Thanks Paul! I went over to the original post and asked a followup question, I would like a confirmation the aircraft look good also with the DX10SF Legacy slider one notch to the left.
February 21, 201412 yr Good - I hope some can come through. I'm not personally concerned with the looks of the MTX AI, their schedules, Gate numbers, etc., as long as they're plentiful, recognizable and the paint jobs are ok. It's the overall "atmosphere" of a busy airport which gives me the immersion kick. If I'm at an airport - as opposed to an airfield - then I will be flying the Maddog, and it's workload has a great immersion "feel" on it's own , but - especially so if GSX is running, and I've done the flight planning and preparation for a "proper" flight. My only beef with UT2 is (was?) that airports most often had insufficient aircraft to be believable, owing to it's injection of an aircraft 20 minutes before it's departure time (or some such algorithm). This leaves lots of empty spaces. February 21, 201412 yr Author I understand what you mean and I would feel the same way if I did offline flying but since I only do online flying these days on VATSIM the most important thing to me now is that the aircraft around me show up in the correct color regardless of time of day or night. I've now also asked what AI packages people use for DX10 over at VATSIM so hopefully I will get some answers there too. I'm thinking maybe I'll give UT2 a try since I can buy that package from Flight1 and if I find the same problem exist with UT2 I can take advantage of Flight1's generous 30-days money back guarantee.
