Need advice for a new joystick

Featured Replies

Hello simmers,

So my Logitech 3D Pro recently died after many years of service and I was wondering what I could replace it with.

I'm not a hardcore simmer at all so I'm looking for something rather simple that does the job.

It can be anything apart from Saitek products because I think they're just ugly :P

Saw the Thrustmaster 16000M which has hall sensors, not sure if it makes a huge difference?

So yeah any help is appreciated :)

Yes on the T.16000M.  Very reasonably priced. Hall Effect sensors make for very precise control  using joy stick movements.  Throttle is a little flimsy and uses conventional pot.  Works fine though.  I would recommend.

Buy another logitech pro!  Saitek sticks look like preying mantesus

It also depends on what you fly. Tubeliners spend 90% of the time on AP and low and slow wont need a high performance stick either

Yeah I think I might do that to be honest. I'm swiss so I need to help my company as well

Copied from a similar topic, but I've recently bought a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick on eBay and it has totally transformed FSX! It's smooth, very stable and has no free play in the centre position as the motors, and not springs, centre the stick. Although the original drivers don't work well with Windows 7, I bought the FS Force drivers from http://www.dirks-software.ca/fs-force/index.htm and the effects are amazing. You even get real stick trim - when you make the trim input, it actually takes out the forces in the stick and re-centres it in a new position. Definitely the best joystick I've tried with FSX.

Not sure what you mean here. Just trying to be helpful with my opinion on an excellent joystick for the OP.
