February 15, 201412 yr Hi captains, during my last leg of the long ACA33/34 turn CYYZ-CYVR-YSSY-CYVR-CYYZ I experience a strange APU behaviour: 1. The APU switch is OFF (long enough, I don't mix it up with the cooling down period. ) 2. The STAT screen shows 100.0RPM. 3. The ELEC screen shows the APU box *not* in green (fitting to the switch setting). 4. The AIR screen shows the APU box in green (fitting to the RPM...). I tried to switch in on, yes, holding the switch to the right until flips back to ON. If I do so, - the L FWD PUMP kicks in (PRESS light out) - the APU 'FAULT' light blinks once as usual. - the APU door opens in the outside view. - the synoptics screen don't change at all, ie. as described above 2-4. If I switch it off, the L FWD PUMP PRESS light comes back, no fuel needed anymore, but nothing changes at all. Also the EICAS screen does *not* show APU COOLING DOWN --- STAT still states 100.0RPM. The APU door is closed again. Somehow the config seems to be corrupted... (see also my brakes problem thread...), but so is COOL&DARK... 8^( Andreas BergPMDG 737NGX -- PMDG J41 -- PMDG 77L/77F/77W -- PMDG B744 -- i7 8700K PC1151 12MB 3.7GHz -- Corsair Cooling H100X -- DDR4 16GB TridentZ -- MSI Z370 Tomahawk -- MSI RTX2080 DUKE 8G OC -- SSD 500GB M.2 -- Thermaltake 550W --
February 16, 201412 yr Author Sunday morning, let's try some testing. I load PMDG's panel state 777 LONG --- the APU comes up OFF, but 100%RPM. Not OK. That's logically wrong. I load PMDG's panel state 777 SHORT --- the APU comes up off with 0%RPM but switch in position ON, 'FAULT' illuminated. That's technically fine, 0RPM and fault, but would we not expect in a short turn the APU being on? I load PMDG's panel state 777 CLDDRK--- the APU comes up off with empty RPM indication (external power to check the screens) and switch in position OFF. Fine. Is my problem anyway related to the panel states? Or some other configuration files? What next? February 16, 201412 yr Ah...I see now you are having more than one problem. Was this one not solved by loading the C172 just like your brakes problem? It could still be a PMDG bug, but it starts to look more like somehow your panel states got corrupted.... I think it is possible to reset them no? Take a look in the intro guide and/or CDU! February 17, 201412 yr Commercial Member I think it is possible to reset them no? In the world of troubleshooting, if you spot more than one ticket from the same user with really weird problems it's usually: Massive amounts of user error; or A corrupt [something] My bet would be a corrupt panel state. February 18, 201412 yr Author My bet would be a corrupt panel state. Hi Kyle, true, but the PMDG panel states did not entirely fix the problem. February 18, 201412 yr Hi Kyle, true, but the PMDG panel states did not entirely fix the problem. You won't know that till PMDG fix the panel states in SP1. At the moment they are causing problems such as those you experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
February 19, 201412 yr I posted awhile ago about the APU problem when using the LONG panel state and another using the COLD state. I have set up my own LONG state which works fine in the meantime.
March 2, 201412 yr I do have the same problem, I'm 90% sure it is related with panel states Bernardo Reis
