Missing scenery files, right after install

Featured Replies

I just reinstalled FSX, but as soon as I started up the sim, I get error messages for missing scenery files 123 to 137. So I thought to run a repair, but starting the sim right after, still gave the same error messages.

I uninstalled FSX and removed all corresponding folders and ran the install again, but again I get the same error messages.

Can someone please tell me how to repair/restore those missing scenery files?

I see I also cant switch to windowed mode and I cant turn on the menu bar. I haven't seen any of those problems before. What can be going wrong here and what can I do to fix it?

Cheers!

Maarten

Your working scenery.cfg is in C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX

It does not get replaced when you reinstall.

FSX is looking for scenery files you had in your previous install.

Delete the scenery.cfg and restart the sim.

As for the other stuff, not sure, however the FSX.cfg doesn't get replaced either.

You might try renaming it and let the sim build a new one.

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.cfg
